Chapter 9
“Kevin…” said Aimee as Kevin looked over at her.
“Yeah…” said Kevin as he wiped tears away from his eyes.
“What’s this key for.. he has a code.” said Aimee as Kevin started to laugh.
“That moron..” said AJ as he started to cry.
“What is it?” asked Aimee.
“His banking account and safety deposit box.” said Kevin.
“Banking account?” asked Aimee.
“Yeah..” said Kevin, “And all his prize video games and football cards and stuff.. everything he cares most about.”
“Oh my god…” said Aimee as she started to cry, sitting back down on the floor, looking at the letter as the ambulance came in and made their way to the bathroom where Nick’s body was.
“Aimee, baby you okay?” asked Brian as Aimee looked up at him.
“No..” said Aimee as she started to shake, “I’m not okay. Nick just killed himself in there…. how the hell do we tell his parents that. Oh Jane, your son killed himself. I can’t do that.”
“I will Aimee..” said Kevin as he stood there, rubbing his forehead
“Sir, can we talk to you alone?” asked one of the paramedics as Kevin walked over and AJ and Howie walked over with him.
“You okay baby?” asked Brian as Aimee nodded her head no.
“Rok.. come here.” said Kevin as Brian looked back at Aimee.
“Go. I’m okay… just leave me alone.” said Aimee as Brian walked out of the room where the other’s were. Aimee stood up, looking at all of the guest at the reception looking at her.
“What are you all looking at?!? Stop it!!!” yelled Aimee as she stood there crying, “Don’t just stand there thinking about it!! Just don’t, just stop it!!!” as she turned around.
“It’s all my fault…” Aimee thought as she walked over to the doorway, looking out to see Kevin, Howie, Brian, and AJ standing in the hallway, all hugging each other. Then she saw three paramedics take out a body in a black bag.
“I shouldn’t have broken his heart…. I couldn’t help it..” Aimee thought as she wiped the tears away, holding the letter in her hand, “I couldn’t help it….” as she watched them take the body down the long hallway until she couldn’t see it anymore.
