Chapter 20

“Yes, Samantha, so lovely to see you again, you have a nice home.” said AJ.

“What was that comment about?” asked Samantha.

“Well I ain’t gonna play Nick and beat around the bush.. you belong with him.. and see he belongs with you and that’s how it is, or atleast how it suppose to be, but see… somebody ohh.. I can’t remember her name… she messed it up, oh wait her name was Samantha, that’s you.” said AJ.

“I know I did.” said Samantha, “And I’m going to work that out.”

“Good luck.. I’ve tried talking to him about it and he won’t talk to you.” said AJ, “But Amber left him and it’s because she didn’t want to play second behind you since you’ve came back in his life. Leighanne and Kristin told her about your and Nick’s history so you can thank them for getting her out of the picture.. she was a good girl, she had a good heart, but … she wasn’t you.”

“I didn’t know her AJ, I didn’t say Amber, you have to break up with Nick. I’ve never said anything to her.” said Samantha, “Nick called me and was upset saying that I haunt him or something… just I can’t help it. I didn’t do anything to her.”

“I know and you do haunt him and you know why.. he’s still in love with you.” said AJ as Nick walked out of the bedroom holding Megan with Howie behind him.

“Mommy, Uncle Howie said that we could have some Jello.” said Megan.

“Yo D, that Uncle Howie got a nice ring to it.” said AJ laughing as Howie gave him the finger while him and Nick walked downstairs.

“If he’s still in love with me, then why doesn’t he want to talk about it. I realize I made a mistake.” said Samantha.

“Do you love him?” asked AJ as Samantha nodded her head yes, “No… don’t play that like last time… I mean are you in love with him?” as Samantha stood there a minute.

“Yeah.. I think I am.” said Samantha.

“Think, Sam, don’t think when it involves this. If you lead that boy on again just to break his heart…. I’m not gonna be responsible, we all were before. We helped him, but if you go and break his heart again, then… you’re not the person I thought you were.” said AJ.

“Okay yes, I’m in love with him. I was all along but just I was blinded by it.” said Samantha.

“Thank you jesus for admitting it, now go tell him.” said AJ as Samantha looked in shock.

“For him to laugh in my face, huh, I don’t think so.” said Samantha as she started to walk downstairs and AJ followed her.

“You know Sam, you haven’t changed, you still hide your true feelings don’t ya?” asked AJ as Samantha looked back at him.

“Uhh you’re still a smartass.” said Samantha as AJ smiled.

“That’s my name baby.” said AJ, “Hey there, what you guys doing, damn Jello for breakfast?”

“Megan, you’re gonna get sick if you keep eating all that Jello.” said Samantha.

“Uncle AJ, you like Britney?” asked Megan.

“Britney Spears, yes, she is F-I-N-E.. fine…” said AJ.

“Fine?” asked Megan, “Mommy what does that mean?”

“Oh I meant she’s really pretty.” said AJ as he poured himself a cup of coffee.

“Oh.” said Megan, “Nick, why are they my uncles and you not?”

“Um well I can be your Uncle Nick if you want me to..” said Nick.

“No, I told my mommy that I want you to be my new daddy.” said Megan as AJ spit coffee all over Howie and Nick looked over at Samantha.

“Damn AJ!” yelled Howie.

“Damn is a bad word Uncle Howie.” said Megan.

“So Megan, you want Nick here to be your new daddy?” asked AJ as Nick gave AJ the death look.

“Yes I do.” said Megan.

“Well I’m sure we can work something out.” said AJ as Samantha put down her glass of orange juice and walked out of the kitchen and Nick looked at AJ.

“Dude would you just shut up.” said Nick.

“Damn Nick, don’t be stupid.” said AJ as Megan kicked AJ.

“Don’t call my Nick stupid!!” yelled Megan, “Mommy!!!” as she started to run into the living room where Samantha was.

“God damn that girl got some kick..” said AJ.

“Megan…” said Nick as he walked into the living room to see Megan sitting in Samantha’s lap, hugging her, “Megan, AJ didn’t mean to call me stupid, he was just playing.” as Megan looked at him.

“Okay.” said Megan.

“Yeah go apologize for kicking him.” said Nick as Samantha looked at him.

“She kicked him?” asked Samantha as she hugged her, “Awww that’s my girl…. go apologize to AJ.”

“Okay mommy.” said Megan as she ran into the kitchen and hugged AJ.

“I’m sorry about what AJ said in there.” said Nick, “Did Megan say that really?”

“Yeah.” said Samantha who wasn’t looking at him.

“Yeah.. we need to have a little talk later okay.” said Nick as Samantha looked over at him.

“Okay.” said Samantha as Nick smiled and walked back into the kitchen where the others were as Samantha sat there.

“Oh my god what does he want to talk about and why would he smile like that afterwards… damn boy.. now that’s gonna worry me until he talks.” she thought as she got up and walked back into the kitchen.

“Guys I’m going to go get dressed okay.” said Samantha.

“Can I come?” asked AJ as Howie and Nick started to laughing.

“If you feel the need to, trash can’s over there.” said Samantha as she turned around and walked out while Howie and Nick busted out laughing.

“What’s so funny?” asked Megan who looked confused.

“You’re mama’s making fun of AJ.” said Nick laughing.

“Oh okay.” said Megan giggling as AJ rolled his eyes.

“I get no love.” said AJ as Howie tried to hug him, “Get off me man.”

“So what did you say to Samantha in there?” asked Howie.

“We’d have a talk later.” said Nick as he looked at AJ and nodded his head no.

“Not that? Damn man.. uhh you’re makin me pissy.. so how long we stayin here, til this afternoon?” asked AJ.

“Yeah, sure why not.” said Nick as he smiled, “Would you like that Megan if we stayed here today?”

“Oh yes.” said Megan, “Can we go to the toy store again?”

“Uhh I dunno.. you’re mama might get mad.” said Nick, “Where’s Bubbles?”

“Mommy bought a little gate and he’s outside.” said Megan, “He pee-peed all over the floor.”

“Oh yeah.. that’s right.” said Nick as he kneeled down to her and looked around, “You wanna go out there and play with him so I can go have a talk with your mama? AJ and Howie will go with ya.”

“Yes.” said Megan as she took AJ and Howie’s hands, “Come on boys.”

“Boys?” asked AJ as he laughed while they followed her outback. Nick just stood there smiling as he walked out of the kitchen, walked upstairs and down to Samantha’s bedroom door which was open.
