Chapter 6

“Alright we’re gonna be alone now.. no publicity okay.” said Madison as Nick started to laugh as they stood outside her, well their hotel suite.

“Yes ma’am.” said Nick laughing as Madison opened the door to see Grace, Kristin, and Leighanne sitting in there.

“Umm Grace….” said Madison.

“Kris.. Leigh, what are you doin in here?” asked Nick as Madison looked back at him.

“We went out with Grace.” said Leighanne as her and Kristin walked over to Madison, “Hi.. I’m Leighanne, Brian’s wife.” as they shook hands.

“I’m Madison, Nick’s wife.” said Madison as Nick looked around.

“Whoa that sounded weird…” said Nick as Grace started to laugh.

“Hi, I’m Kevin’s wife Kristin..” said Kristin as they shook hands.

“I’m Madison, Nick’s…” said Madison as Nick stopped her.

“Significant other.. that wife term is just like whack.” said Nick as he walked over to his stuff as Leighanne and Kristin were laughing.

“Madison guess where Leighanne is from.” said Grace.

“Orlando?” asked Madison.

“Marietta.” said Leighanne.

“No kidding.. that’s where I’m from.” said Madison.

“Yeah she knows Jeff.” said Grace.

“You know my brother?” asked Madison, “Whoa…”

“What the hell are you talking about?” asked Nick as he walked back over.

“I know Madison’s brother Jeff.” said Leighanne, “Small world after all.”

“Isn’t that like a Disney song… like on that ride at Disney World…” said Nick as they looked at them, “Nevermind..” as he walked off.

“Madison.. rule one of being around him a long time, he starts saying crazy things… like what you just heard…” said Kristin as Madison started to laugh.

“Yeah.. I think I’m realizing that.. he does crazy stuff, I mean why else would we be married…” said Madison laughing.

“Well him drunk and all.. there’s no telling why you’re married.” said Leighanne as they all laughed, “And I need to go .. it’s getting late. But it was nice meeting you… and you Grace.”

“Yeah same here… welcome to the family.” said Kristin.

“Umm.. thanks.” said Madison, “I’ll see you later.”

“Okay.. Nick be good!” yelled Leighanne as Nick looked back at her.

“Girl please aren’t I always?” asked Nick as Leighanne and Kristin walked out laughing as Grace shut the door.

“So.. how was dinner?” asked Grace as Madison looked at her.

“It was good.” said Madison as she nodded her head yes and looked over to see Nick playing with a gameboy sitting on the bed, then looked back at Grace.

“So.. any press see ya?” asked Grace.

“Yes…. they asked us a few questions and then we kissed infront of them and left.” said Madison.

“Good publicity.” said Grace.

“See that’s what I told her.” said Nick as Grace looked over at him.

“Umm yeah well I’m sure you two honeymooners wanna be alone.” said Grace as Madison gave her a ‘go to hell’ look, “So.. you’re leaving tomorrow?”

“Yeah…” said Madison, “Are you going back to Atlanta?”

“Yeah I need to go back but I’ll go back to New York before you leave for Europe.” said Grace as they hugged.

“Alright… I’ll see ya soon then.” said Madison as Grace looked over at Nick.

“Nick… see ya later brother-in-law.” said Grace as she started to laugh.

“Bye sister-in-law!” said Nick as Grace laughed and walked out of the suite door.

“Well… I’m gonna go take a long bubble bath or something.” said Madison as Nick didn’t look up from his gameboy, “Don’t come in okay.”

“Okay..” said Nick as Madison walked into the bathroom and shut the door while Nick threw the gameboy on the bed and looked around.

“Gotsta call AJ.” he thought as he picked up the phone and dialed AJ’s number.

“Yellll–oh.” said AJ answering his phone.

“Dude…” whispered Nick.

“Dude…” whispered AJ.

“Dude…” whispered Nick.

“Damn it Nick say something besides Dude.” said AJ laughing.

“Man.. it’s weird.” said Nick as AJ really started to laugh.

“What’s weird?” asked AJ giggling.

“Umm…. Madison… we kissed out infront of the press tonight and dude….” said Nick as AJ fell off of his bed laughing.

“You like this being married stuff don’t ya?” asked AJ.

“It’s not half bad.” said Nick, “I don’t know that much about her yet… but damn.”

“Marrying your dream girl.” said AJ laughing.

“She’s not my dream girl.” said Nick laughing, “She’s far from it.”

“Yeah can’t marry Dorothy from Wizard of Oz can ya Nick?” said AJ.

“Huh?” asked Nick, “Dude that’s whack, don’t say that.”

“Where is she at now?” asked AJ.

“Taking a long bubblebath.” said Nick.

“Whooo… go join her.” said AJ.

“What?!?” asked Nick as he started to whisper, “Dude.. no she told me not to come in.”

“Dude you are married now… walk in there and if she says something tell her that.” said AJ.

“Man.. no.” said Nick giggling, “I’ll see ya in the mornin’ when we leave…”

“Alright…. be careful and ya know what I’m talkin’ about.” said AJ.

“Dude.. that won’t happen. Bye.” said Nick as he hung up. He picked up his gameboy and started back playing as he looked at his hand and saw his gold wedding band, “Damn….”

Madison layed there in the huge tub that was filled and overflowing with bubbles. She looked around with her head resting on the edge of the tub and brought her hand up from the bubbles and water to see her rings as she looked at them and whipped the bubbles off. She just layed there and staired at them as she put her arms on the side of the tub and closed her eyes.

“Damn thing..” said Nick as he was playing his gameboy when the phone in the room started to ring and he answered it, “Hello?”

“Who is this?” asked a man’s voice.

“Nick.. who is this?” asked Nick.

“Charles Walker, Madison’s father, is this the guy she ran off and married?” asked Charles as Nick sat there looking scared.

“Um that would be me sir. How are you?” asked Nick.

“Pissed off, where’s my daughter at?” asked Charles.

“Taking a bubblebath….” said Nick.

“Go take her the phone.” said Charles.

“Okay hold on one sec.” said Nick as he walked up to the bathroom and knocked on it, “Madison your dad is on the phone.”

“Uhh bring it in here.” said Madison as Nick opened the door slowly and walked into see Madison in the bubblebath as he walked over and handed her the phone, “Thanks.”

“You’re welcome.” said Nick as he leaned up against the counter in the bathroom playing his gameboy.

“Hello?” asked Madison.

“Do you know how disappointed I am in you Madison.” said Charles as Madison leaned back in the tub and closed her eyes as Nick watched her.

“Yes daddy…” said Madison.

“Why didn’t we ever meet this boy before you married him?” asked Charles, “What about Luke?”

“Luke is like over with daddy.. I’m married.” said Madison.

“When do we get to meet this Nick, what does he look like?” asked Charles.

“Um I dunno… go in Caley’s room daddy, I’m sure she has a picture of them somewhere.” said Madison as she opened her eyes to see Nick looking at her as Charles walked into Caley’s room to see a Backstreet Boys poster.

“Alright I’m looking at a Backstreet Boys poster, if you tell me he’s the one with the earring in his lip I will shoot you.” said Charles.

“No that’s AJ. Nick is the blonde..” said Madison as Nick looked in the mirror and nodded his head yes to her.

“Oh… he’s a nice looking boy I guess. You are bringing him home for Thanksgiving.” said Charles.

“I am?” asked Madison.

“Yes you are.” said Charles, “No if and or buts about it.”

“Umm okay.” said Madison, “Let me go daddy because I’m in the tub and I’ve got some stuff to do.”

“Yes I bet you do.” said Charles, “Call me tomorrow and we’ll talk more.”

“Okay daddy.. I love you bye.” said Madison.

“Love you too.” said Charles as they hung up and Madison handed Nick the phone back.

“What he say?” asked Nick.

“We’re going to Atlanta for Thanksgiving no if and or buts about it.” said Madison.

“Cool.. when we leave there, we’ll go down to the key’s to see my parents.” said Nick.

“Okay… um leave so I can get out.” said Madison as Nick started to laugh and walked out.

Nick sat there on the bed watching TV as Madison walked out of the bathroom with her long brown hair pulled up in a little claw barrette and a white t-shirt and a pair of pink panties and Nick looked over at her.

“Well you’re not shy.” said Nick.

“You’ve probably seen more than me in a t-shirt and panties too.” said Madison as she took the barrette out of her hair and brushed it.

“I don’t remember…” said Nick laughing as Madison looked back at him to notice that he was in a t-shirt and already in bed under the covers flipping channels on the TV.

“You ready for bed?” asked Madison.

“Yeah I took a bath before I came up here and we went to eat.” said Nick.

“Oh.. okay.” said Madison as she walked over and sat down on the bed and looked at the TV as she got under the covers and Nick looked over at her and he looked at her as he started to smile.

“Don’t go there.” said Madison.

“I’m joking..” said Nick laughing, “Take a joke baby.”

“Uh huh..” said Madison as she took the remote from him and turned the channels to see “Shape Of My Heart” on MTV, “Look there’s your song.”

“Oh boy…” said Nick as it came to his part in the song and he covered his face.

“Aww look.. you look pissed when you sing.” said Madison as Nick looked over at her.

“You haven’t seen me pissed.” said Nick as Madison started to laugh.

“Yeah…” said Madison as she yawned.

“You tired?” asked Nick as Madison nodded her head yes.

“Yeah.. had a long interesting day.” said Madison as Nick started to laugh.

“Man for real.” said Nick as he clapped to the turn the lights off, “I like that.”

“Good… go to sleep.” said Madison as layed down on her side facing him as Nick cut the TV and layed down facing her as he leaned over and kissed her on the cheek.

“Good night sweetheart.” said Nick as Madison opened her eyes and he started to laugh.

“I can make you sleep on the sofa.” said Madison.

“Not on our second night together..” said Nick as Madison closed her eyes and Nick closed his as he started to smile.
