Chapter 5

“Uhh damn all of those photographers…” said Madison as her and Nick got in the back of a limo.

“Man it’s only the beginning, it’s only the beginning.” said Nick as he looked over at her to see her looking at her ring, “You like it?”

“Yeah…” said Madison, “Heart shaped… my favorite shape.”

“Really… I didn’t know.” said Nick, “I just thought it looked like something someone would by the person they really loved.”

“Yeah…” said Madison as she smiled, “So.. tell me about you. You’re family.”

“Uhh… I have a older half-sister, I have two younger sisters.. and then I have twin brother and sister.” said Nick.

“Aaron…” said Madison.

“Yeah, you knew that?” asked Nick.

“Yeah.. I like that song of his. It’s annoying, but I like it. I knew you were his brother though.” said Madison.

“Yeah.. so what about you… anymore brother or sisters beside Grace?” asked Nick.

“I have a older brother who is married and he has a little girl who is 1. Then it’s Grace, and then me, and then I have a little sister who stays with me alot.” said Madison.

“Both come from big familys huh?” asked Nick laughing.

“Yeah…” said Madison, “I guess so. So what did your parents say?”

“Mad a little… upset that I didn’t tell them about you.. when hell there was no me and you.” said Nick as Madison started to laugh, “And… they want to meet you.”

“Uhh.. we’re actually gonna do the in-law stuff even though it’s like not real and it’s gonna be over before you know it?”

“I guess.. or they’ll know it’s a scam and not for real.” said Nick.

“Yeah.. I’m sure mine wants to meet you.” said Madison, “My dad hadn’t gotten home yet from work.. so when he finds out…. I feel sorry for my poor mom.” as she started to laugh.

“Do you wear contacts?” asked Nick as Madison looked over at him.

“No.. why?” asked Madison.

“You’re eyes are like blue blue blue..” said Nick.

“Nope… all natural.” said Madison as she looked down, “Everything is natural.” as Nick started to laugh.

“Nice to know.” said Nick as the car stopped and he got out of the car and stood outside of a little resturaunt. Madison started to get up and he leaned up and took her hand and held it, “Play the part.”

“Yeah…” whispered Madison as the driver shut the door and they walked into the resturaunt. A hostess sat them down at a back corner as Madison looked around to see a bunch of people looking at them.

“Everybody is looking at us.” said Madison as Nick looked up from the menu to look around.

“Let them, that’s why we’re doing this.” said Nick as Madison looked around and then looked back down at her menu.

“So how long have you been singing?” asked Nick a little bit later as they sat there eating.

“Umm… since I was like 3 in church but professionally…. when I graduated high school.” said Madison.

“Really?” asked Nick.

“Yeah… I moved to Nashville with my older brother, Jeff, and I went to singing around and stuff and finally about a year and a half ago this producer heard me.. and got me hooked up with the Coyote Ugly soundtrack and I got a deal.” said Madison.

“That’s cool… I got the soundtrack, it’s good.” said Nick.

“Well thanks it’s not all me on there.” said Madison.

“A few songs.” said Nick.

“Yeah…..” said Madison, “Got me two awards last night.” as she started laughing as Nick threw his hands up in the air.

“And me.. don’t forget that.” said Nick as he started back eating and Madison started to laugh.

“Can’t forget that most definetly.” said Madison laughing as she looked up at him, “I wonder.. I wonder what made us go get married last night.”

“Ya know.. I thought the same damn thing today.” said Nick, “It’s weird.. we’ll never know. The guys said.. well Kevin said he was over talking to you and then the next thing he knew we were talking and then umm AJ said the next thing he knew that we were out on the dance floor all over each other, and then we were gone.”

“I wish I could remember.” said Madison.

“Me too.. bet we had fun.” said Nick as Madison started to laugh.

“Umm probably so, never know.” said Madison laughing as she looked up and saw Lance Bass and JC Chasez from ‘N SYNC standing over in the corner looking over their way, “Umm… those two guys from ‘NSuck.. sorry ‘NSync are over there.”

“Where?” asked Nick as he turned around and waved at them.

“I thought you guys were like at war or something.” said Madison as Nick started to laugh.

“Well we’re all not best friends.. but it’s like a friendly war.” said Nick as Lance and JC walked up.

“Hey Nick, what’s up?” asked JC as they all shook hands.

“Umm nothing much.” said Nick, “JC, Lance, this is Madison Walker, Madison this is JC Chasez and Lance Bass.” as they shook hands.

“Don’t you mean Carter now?” asked Lance laughing.

“Umm…” said Madison as she looked at Nick, “I’m keeping my maiden name.”

“That’s cool. Man it shocked the hell out of us. We get up and read the paper and we were like dude.. Nick got married man and then we saw who to and Chris was like freakin’ out.” said JC as they all started to laugh.

“Yeah… we decided just to go ahead and do it.” said Nick as he looked over at Madison wanting to laugh.

“That’s cool.. as long as you love each other.” said Lance as he looked at Madison and then looked at Nick.

“Yes.. we do.” said Nick as Madison started to laugh.

“What’s so funny?” asked JC, “You should be like awwing your something.”

“Um… he’s just so cute when he says that it makes me wanna laugh.” said Madison as Nick started to laugh.

“Alright, we just wanted to come over and say congrats on the wedding.” said Lance.

“Thanks man that means a lot.” said Nick as JC and Lance walked off and Madison started to laugh.

“Don’t blow the cover.” said Nick.

“Just oh that was funny….” said Madison laughing as she took a sip of her drink.

“It was weird… weird as hell.” said Nick as Madison shook her head yes.

“So… we need to plan this out.. when are we going to announce that we’re getting a divorce?” asked Madison.

“Well.. the Billboard Awards are somewhere around the first of December… I’m going to present with Aaron.” said Nick.

“I’m performing.” said Madison.

“Oh really.. see that’s like a month away really.. we can show up seperately and cause speculation and then like maybe a week later say, it’s over. We were young and thought we were ready for it and tada.” said Nick.

“That sounds good.” said Madison, “Atleast we get a new friend out of this whole thing.”

“Yeah true I wanted to go over and meet ya last night but just couldn’t.” said Nick as Madison looked at him.

“When at the awards?” asked Madison.

“Yeah.. and then the little part of the party that I remember.” said Nick.

“Why couldn’t you?” asked Madison.

“Well for one you were always talking to someone and two, I dunno, you seemed like the type that would brush me off…” said Nick.

“Nah.. I’m not your usual stuck up star, I mean hell I’m barely famous, okay yeah a little, I don’t even have my own album out yet. I have no right to act like that yet.” said Madison as Nick started to laugh.

“Heard the magic word.. yet.” said Nick laughing.

“Yeah… I’ll never be that way though.” said Madison as she looked around and started to laugh.

“What?” asked Nick.

“I was just thinking…. atleast I didn’t get drunk and marry someone in NSync… I don’t particularly care for them very much.” said Madison as Nick started to laugh.

“For real.. atleast I didn’t go marry Christina, I can’t stand that bitches ass.” said Nick, “But it’s weird… ya know what I mean, what if it’s a sign or something?”

“A sign?”asked Madison.

“Yeah… like God trying to tell us something.” said Nick.

“Well if God wanted to tell me something, he could have told me in some other way, I had big hopes for my wedding day and wedding night, hell I don’t remember either one.” said Madison as Nick was laughing.

“Yeah I thought if I ever got married it’d be like when Brian and Leighanne got married… something big and fancy, and we had some Elvis impersonator.” said Nick laughing.

“And not a very good one at that.” said Madison laughing.

“Yeah true that…” said Nick as he looked around.

“Well.. you wanna go or something, we’re finished here…” said Nick.

“Sure..” said Madison as they got up from their table and Nick took her hand.

“Let’s go walking through the casino or something in there incase someone’s in there and we can be seen.” said Nick.

“Okay..” said Madison as they started walking through the casino holding hands and looking around.

“You ever been to Vegas before now?” asked Nick.

“Yeah on vacation when I was like 10. My dad wanted to blow some money.” said Madison as Nick started to laugh, “It was almost like that movie with Chevy Chase. It was so fucked up.”

“I bet..” said Nick as they ran up on Howie sitting in at a slot machine, “What the hell is D over here?”

“D? Howie?” asked Madison as Nick looked at her.

“Yeah.. come on.” said Nick as they walked over to them, “D.. whazzup my dawg.”

“Nick.. Madison… holding hands.. whoa.” said Howie, “Umm just playing around here.” as he started to giggle, “What about you two?”

“Went out to eat.” said Nick, “Gotta make the best of this.”

“Yeah see what Nick got me.” said Madison as she stuck her hand out for Howie to see and Howie looked up at Nick.

“Nick.. good taste.” said Howie, “That’s beautiful.”

“Brian helped.” said Nick as he smiled.

“Yeah… so Madison, Nick’s not acting like an obnoxious husband is he?” asked Howie as Madison started to laugh.

“No.. he’s acting nice.” said Madison, “For right now.”

“That’s good… Nicky will make a great husband.” said Howie as he patted Nick on the arm, “You two have fun.. don’t stay out too late and for gods sake, don’t get drunk.” said Howie as Nick and Madison started to laugh.

“Umm we won’t.” said Nick laughing, “Check ya later.”

“Bye..” said Howie, “Bye Madison.. or wait Mrs. Carter.” as he started to laugh.

“Bye Howie.” said Madison as Madison and Nick walked off and Howie watched them.

“Damn…. that turned around rather quickly.” Howie thought as he shook his head and pulled down the leaver on the slot machine and not winning nothing, “Well damn…”

“I think we just confused the hell out of him.” said Nick laughing.

“Yeah.. come on and let’s go before we do that to another poor soul.” said Madison as they held hands and started out of the casino to find a lot of press standing outside and Nick stopped as Madison looked at him.

“Nick… what made you and Madison decide to get married?” asked a reporter as Nick stood there.

“I love her…” said Nick as he looked over at Madison and smiled.

“How long have you been seeing each other?” asked another reporter.

“Since July 4th…” said Madison.

“So you’re married, what’s next?” asked another reporter as Nick leaned over and kissed Madison who was standing there confused, but decide to kiss back. The cameras were flashing a thousand times a second until the kiss ended.

“We’re on our honeymoon still what do you think?” asked Nick as he took her hand and got back in the limo.

“Holy shit why did you do that, that scared the hell out of me.” said Madison trying to catch her breath.

“Give them something to talk about. Remember we’re stayign together for a month for publicity…. that was publicity.” said Nick as he hit himself in the face, “Damn…”

“Okay…” said Madison, “So are we gonna sleep together infront of other people for publicity too?” as Nick started to laugh.

“We won’t go that far.” said Nick laughing.
