Madison woke up the next morning to feel Nick’s arm around her. She looked over her shoulder to see him snuggled up next to her and he was still asleep.

“If I have to wake up like this one more morning….” she thought to herself as she closed her eyes and opened them back up, sighing at the same time when she felt someone kiss her on her shoulder and she jumped.

“What?” asked Madison as Nick started to laugh.

“Good morning snuggums.” said Nick as Madison looked confused.

“Umm yeah good morning.” said Madison as she sat up in bed, leaning against her headboard, “Uhh…..”

“Uhh.. what’s that mean?” asked Nick as he layed there on his stomach, looking up smiling at her.

“I’m ready to leave here.” said Madison as she looked down at him.

“Why… I’m having fun. You’re mom said there’s gonna be a big meal today and from last night, she’s a good cook so that means….. come on Madison.. what’s the answer?” asked Nick trying to be funny as she looked down at him and rolled her eyes, “Good food…. duh.. what’s wrong?”

“Nothing…. I don’t want them to get too attached to you or anything.” said Madison.

“Hey just because we get a divorce after the awards don’t mean I can’t be buddies with Jeff or like hook Caley up with some tix and stuff.” said Nick, “I mean what are you gonna do, go down meet my family and like completely blow them off forever…”

“No.. I wouldn’t do that.” said Madison.

“I know.” said Nick, “So just make the best of it right now.”

“Okay.” said Madison as she smiled a little and Nick got out of bed and went to go get dressed. Madison sat there and looked out the window that was beside her bed.

“Well you two slept late.. rough night?” asked Grace as she sat in the living room while Madison and Nick walked downstairs dressed.

“Yeah..” said Nick as he smiled.

“What time is it?” asked Madison.

“It’s going on 10:30.. you missed breakfeast Nick.. we had pancakes.” said Grace.

“Uhh… alright, that’s okay.” said Nick as he looked around, “I smell food…” as he walked into the kitchen.

“So what’s all this screaming last night?” asked Grace.

“Huh.. oh me and Nick were having a pillow fight.” said Madison.

“Mom and Dad and Jeff think you were ummm doing the naughty.” said Grace giggling as Madison looked confused.

“Um I think not.. no.” said Madison as Grace rolled her eyes.

“So do I get to come to Vegas?” asked Grace.

“No.” said Madison as she sat down next to her on the sofa.

“But you’ll go to the awards alone.” said Grace.

“I know… that’s how I want it.” said Madison, “If someone else is there with me, they’ll be like well she knew there was a chance she’d be alone.”

“Oh yeah you have a point.” said Grace as she rolled her eyes.

“Ohhh something smells good up in here.” said Nick as he walked into the kitchen and Jeff who was sitting there feeding Jana started to laugh.

“Baby food?” asked Jeff as Nick turned his nose up at him.

“Um no thanks… is the Turkey in the oven?” asked Nick.

“Yes, you missed breakfeast, I could ham, eggs, pancakes…..” said Mary.

“I know, Grace told me. I was tired. I’m still worn out from that trip.” said Nick, “Tomorrow morning before we leave.. I promise.”

“I’m going to hold you to that.” said Mary.

“Oh don’t worry.. I’ll be up and ready to eat.” said Nick.

“I don’t know… after today… you’re gonna gain 10 pounds.” said Jeff as Nick looked down.

“Like it’s gonna hurt.. I’ll loose it at rehearsals.” said Nick as he started to laugh a little, “Where .. where’s your husband at?”

“He went out with a friend of us hunting early this morning. He should be back anytime.” said Mary.

“Caley went over to a friends house.” said Jeff, “She’s like just so chitty chatty lately.”

“She’s what, 12?” asked Nick.

“Yeah… 12.” said Jeff.

“My sister is the same way, she’s 12 too.” said Nick laughing as Madison and Grace walked in.

“What are you talkin about?” asked Madison as she walked up to Nick.

“Jeff said Caley was over at a friends house.” said Nick.

“Oh… so what time are we gonna eat?” asked Madison.

“About 1 or so.” said Mary as Grace rolled her eyes.

“Grace those eyes are gonna roll back in your head and get stuck.” said Jeff as Grace gave him a dirty look.

“Well I need to go up and call and check out the charts and stuff for ya Maddie… so I’m gonna go on and do that.” said Grace as she walked out of the kitchen.

“I don’t know if I told ya or not sis, but your acceptance speech was missing something.” said Jeff as Madison looked confused.

“What?” asked Madison.

“Thanks to my brother Jeff who is the bomb and helped me get a record deal.” said Jeff imatating Madison, “All you could say is oh my god Mark McGrath just gave me my award and hugged me. Oh my god.” as Nick started laughing.

“She did do that didn’t she.” said Nick laughing as Madison looked over at him.

“I’m sorry.. I like Mark.” said Madison.

“I can tell.” said Jeff as Charles walked in.

“I’m back…” said Charles as he walked into the kitchen from the backdoor.

“Oh did you kill anything?” asked Jeff.

“Nope, didn’t see a thing.” said Charles as he looked over at Madison and Nick, “Oh you two are up, you were still asleep when I left here.”

“Yeah.” said Madison, “Who did you go hunting with?”

“Tom.” said Charles, “Nick, Tom is my brother, he lives up above Atlanta, about 30 minutes from here. They might come this afternoon.”

“Oh that’s cool.” said Nick.

“Yeah, so Madison when they come, do not be mean to your cousins.” said Charles as Madison looked over at Nick.

“My cousins are sluts….” said Madison as she looked back over at Charles, “Sorry dad, but they are.”

“I know they’re not angels.. but…” said Charles, “Anyway, I’m going upstairs to change.” as he started to walk upstairs.

“Well that was enlightening.” said Nick as Madison looked at him.

“That’s a big word.” said Madison.

“Yeah I was reading the dictionary you have under your bed last night.” said Nick as Jeff started to laugh and they heard the front door open and Caley walked into the kitchen.

“Umm hey guys… Madison, can I talk to you a minute?” asked Caley as she grabbed Madison’s hand and brought her to the front door.

“What?” asked Madison as she looked up to see about 6 girls standing outside, “Uhh… Caley….”

“Madison, I’m sorry, but they wanna meet Nick.” said Caley.

“Cal.. it’s Thanksgiving.” said Madison as Nick looked out to see Madison and Caley and the girls upstairs.

“But Madison…” said Caley.

“No.. now go tell them to go home.” said Madison as Caley walked out the front door and Madison started to walk upstairs.

“Uhhh… they won’t listen to a damn thing I say.” said Madison as she walked into her room and started to feel a little dizzy and sat down on the edge of her bed.

“Caley…” said Nick as he opened up the door to see her standing outside.

“What?” asked Caley who was sitting on the doorsteps.

“What’s up, what was Madison pissed about?” asked Nick.

“A couple of my friends wanted to meet you and Madison said no. Now they all think I’m lying because your not here.” said Caley.

“Where are they at?” asked Nick.

“They went home.” said Caley.

“Oh… why don’t you go call them and tell them to come back over before we eat and they can meet me.” said Nick.

“Really?” asked Caley.

“Yeah, sure go on.” said Nick as Caley smiled and ran back inside as Nick stood there and looked around.

“Umm… Madison…” Nick thought as he walked back inside, shutting the front door.

Madison walked out of her bedroom and stood at the top of the stairs to see Nick down at the bottom of the stairs with Caley and her friends. He was sitting there singing autographs, taking pictures, and just hanging out with them. She looked and saw how happy Caley was that she could actually do something for her friends and it was all because of Nick.

“What are you doing sweetie?” asked Charles as he walked up and stood beside Madison who was leaning over the railing watching them downsatirs.

“Watching Nick with them.” said Madison, “Caley’s on cloud 9 right now….”

“You know… I know when you first got married I didn’t believe it and I didn’t think it was right, but Nick is a good boy Madison. It didn’t take me long to realize that, you’re lucky.” said Charles as he patted her on the back as she smiled a little.

“Yeah… I’m lucky.” said Madison as Nick looked up and smiled at her, then went back to talking to one of Caley’s friends.

“I can tell you really love him.” said Charles as Madison looked back at him.
