Madison stood back in the green room of TRL waiting for the guys to show up. She was pacing back and forth as Carson walked in to see her.

“Aww Mrs. Carter is missing Mr. Carter, hey Madison, nice to see you again.” said Carson as they shook hands.

“Hey.. yeah… havent’ seen him in a few days……” said Madison.

“Aww I’m sure… I know how it is.” said Carson, “So where are you planning on living?”

“Well I live here in New York City and he lives in Florida… so inbetween.. here and there.” said Madison as she saw Kevin walk in.

“Madison.. hey!” said Kevin as they hugged.

“Hey.. where’s Nick?” asked Madison.

“Your boy is comin…” said Kevin as Nick walked around the corner with Howie and saw Madison.

“Madison!” said Nick as they ran up to each other and hugged, “I missed you…”

“I missed you too.” said Madison as they stopped hugging and looked at each. Then they leaned in and gave each other a little kiss as Brian, AJ, and Howie started to awwwwwwww.

“Isn’t that sweet?” asked Howie laughing.

“D… shut up.” said Nick as they hugged again.

“Awwwww young love.. Kevin, isn’t it great?” asked Carson, “I gotta go out there and start the show….. we’ll be back soon.”

“Okay.” said Kevin as he looked over at Madison and Nick still hugging, shaking his head smiling looking over at the others.

“Alright…. guys… see ya in LA December 9th alright….” said Kevin as he hugged Nick goodbye that night as all of them were getting ready to leave the record label party for them.

“You’ll see us on TV, watch the awards the 3rd alright.” said Nick.

“I know…” said Kevin as he hugged Madison goodbye.

“Tell Kristin I said hello.” said Madison.

“I will… you two have fun on the break…. and get some rest..” said Kevin laughing.

“Alright….” said Nick as him and Madison walked out of the party and got in a taxi, “Well that went good.”

“Yeah you excited about the album being out now?” asked Madison.

“I’m glad it’s all over with.” said Nick as he leaned his head back, “I’m so tired, I think I could sleep for days and days.” said Nick, closing his eyes as Madison looked over at him, staring at him.

“I bet…” said Madison as Nick looked over at her to see the wind blowing her hair because of the window being cracked.

“I really did miss ya.” said Nick, “I mean we didn’t talk on the phone that much, I missed ya.”

“I know.. I missed talkin’ to you too, we’ve done become buddies here and now we’re gonna have to go through some whack ass divorce soon.” said Madison as she started to laugh.

“Yeah…” said Nick as he looked over at Madison who was looking out the window.

They made it Madison’s apartment building. Both Madison and Nick was quiet the whole elevator ride to her floor, and they made it to her apartment.

“Uhh… damn I’m tired.” said Nick as he dropped his bags in the middle of the floor, walking over and falling on the sofa.

“Yeah I know you are.” said Madison as she locked the door and walked over and sat down on the empty cushion of the sofa as Nick was laying on the other two with his legs hanging off the arm of the sofa.

“Damn I am…” said Nick as he sat up on the sofa and looked over at her, “I could sleep for a year…” as she started to laugh.

“Yep.. then tomorrow we get on another plane!” said Madison as she started to clap and Nick fell over with his head landing in her lap.

“Shoot me now damn it, shoot me now….” he mumbled as Madison continued to laugh.

“Awww…… Nick’s gonna turn into a bird and just fly away.” said Madison as she ran her fingers through his hair and he looked up at her. He sat up and they were looking in each others eyes when Nick started to laugh a little.

“I’m not gonna fly too far…” said Nick when they were about to kiss and the phone rung, causing them both to jump.

“Shit..” said Madison as she jumped up to get the phone.

“God damn son of a mother fuckin’ bitch…” Nick thought as he fell back and layed down on the sofa.

“Hello?” asked Madison.

“Hey sis, is my brother in law home yet?” asked Grace.

“Oh yeah Nick’s here, Nick, Grace sends her love.” said Madison.

“Oh.. I send my love also.” said Nick as he covered his face with a sofa pillow.

“He sends his love, so what’s up?” asked Madison who was out of break from the shock that they were about to kiss.

“Just wondering if Nick was back yet and everything…” said Grace as Nick got up and looked at Madison up and down.

“I need a cold shower…” said Nick as he grabbed his bags and walked into her bedroom.

“Oh yes.. he’s back.” said Madison.

“What’s that mean?” asked Grace as she started to laugh.

“Nothing, so what’s going on there, is Jeff there yet?” asked Madison.

“Yep… him and everybody is here, just waiting on you and your husband to come.” said Grace giggling as Madison rolled her eyes, walking over and looking out the big huge window overlooking the dining table.

“Yeah well we’re coming.” said Madison as she looked down at her ring, as she held up it up against the window looking at it.

“That’s cool… I mean I know you are.. if you don’t Daddy might kill ya.” said Grace as Madison started to laugh a little.

“Yeah I know he will….. can I ask you a question?” asked Madison.

“Umm depends….” said Grace, “Ain’t nothin’ nasty is it?”

“Hell no.. no.. umm….” said Madison as she paused.

“What Maddie?” asked Grace.

“I think Nick like.. likes me…” said Madison, “Like ya know what I mean…. just these looks and smiles that he gives me when we’re alone, it’s not a part of the plan.”

“Do you like him?” asked Grace.

“Yeah I like him, as a friend, nothing more, because as soon as the awards are over we’re gonna announce we’re gonna get a divorce.” said Madison.

“I know… well.. if he does, maybe you can get a divorce and start seeing each other seriously and like…. fall in love and marry the right way.” said Grace as Madison started to laugh.

“A friend, and friend only…” said Madison.

“Oh please don’t you lie and tell me you’re not attracted to him.” said Grace.

“I am, I won’t lie, he’s umm very nice looking…” said Madison as she started to laugh a little.

“Nice looking?” asked Grace, “Go ahead and say it…”

“Sometimes he’s just damn plain sexy.” said Madison as Grace started to laugh again.

“Oh that’s funny.. that’s good, funny stuff right there.” said Grace as Madison rolled her eyes.

“Please… don’t laugh at me.” said Madison as she sat down in a chair at her dining table, “But he is.. at times… now at other times, he’s just like a complete moron and you want to hit him upside the head.” said Madison as Grace continued to laugh.

“Oh gosh.. I’m in pure tears here Madison…” said Grace, “Ohh Daddy will definetly get a kick out of Nick, he will.”

“Yeah… he seems like his type of guy for sure.” said Madison giggling, “Uhh it’s gonna be strange, knowing that this is just like a business thing and that it’s gonna end soon but him meeing Mom and Dad and then I’m going to go meet his parents and brother and sisters, it’s just, too much I think.”

“Yeah I know… but you don’t want them all to know, hey you got drunk and married a total stranger.” said Grace.

“I know…” said Madison, “This is what we gotta do… so it’ll be cool. I’ve never been to the Florida Keys so that’s a first for me.”

“Yeah… it should be cool.” said Grace as Nick walked out of Madison’s room in his t-shirt and boxers.

“Well I’m gonna go get ready for bed.. so I’ll see you tomorrow.” said Madison.

“Tell sister in law I said bye bye.” said Nick.

“Nick says bye bye.” said Madison.

“Alright tell him I said bye, bye take it easy okay.” said Grace.

“Okay.. bye.” said Madison as she hung up.

“She said bye bye.” said Madison as she handed Nick the phone, “Answer it if it rings okay.”

“Sure thang…” said Nick as Madison looked at him and walked into her bedroom shutting the door.

“Damn…” Nick thought as he started to dial AJ’s number.

“Yo, sup?” asked AJ answering his phone.

“This close.. I was this close….” said Nick.

“Nick dude I was just stuck with your ass for a 100 god damn hours boy what you want?” asked AJ.

“Madison and I almost kissed.” said Nick.

“Almost man you have kissed.” said AJ laughing, “You drunk boy? I thought ya would have learned your lesson.”

“Man no I mean like kiss for real, not playing kiss, I mean seriously 100 percent kiss… we almost did but the damn phone rung and Grace was on the phone.” said Nick as he fell over on the sofa.

“Grace man now there’s a hottie…” said AJ.

“Dude are you listening to me or thinkin’ with ya other head.. listen to me, Madison and I almost guniunely kissed homey, dude you hear me?” asked Nick.

“Yeah man I hear ya, just thinkin’ about Grace that’s all, ummm yeah so like maybe she got a thing for ya, man, I don’t know, work on her and not like that boy, ya know what I mean. Like do things that would make her fall for ya. Any little thing can make her fall in love with ya man, it’s hard as hell, but dude I think you can do it.” said AJ as he started imatating the guys voice from the “Waterboy”, “YOU CAN DO IT!! YOU CAN DO IT!!”

“Alright…” said Nick laughing, “Anything, like maybe something like helping her mom with Thanksgiving, anything right?”

“Anything man, anything….” said AJ.

“Alright I’ll call ya soon and let ya know whazzup.” said Nick.

“Dude, bye and peace out homey.” said AJ as Nick laughing.

“Bye.” said Nick as he hung up and looked around. He stood up and cracked Madison’s bedroom door open to see the light still on in the bathroom and he could hear the water running. He sat down on the edge of her bed looking into the mirror on her vanity at himself as she walked out of the bathroom with a towel around her.

“Uh I didn’t know you’d be in here.” said Madison as she walked over to her closet and shut the door.

“Yeah I just came in.” said Nick as he kept trying to peek through the door and started to smile.
