“My back hurts.” Kelsey mumbled the next morning as she layed there in bed. Nick turned his head a little, looking over at her as she looked over at him, “I never liked that Chris fucker.”

“My woman was trying to protect me.”

“I was for a while.”

“I know.” Nick said, “My fist hurts a little.”

“My back and ass is killing me.” Kelsey said, “God atleast I don’t have to get up and actually go somewhere right now.”

“Gotta leave this afternoon and go back to Nashville.”

“God I know.” Kelsey said as she yawned, “Damn starting this tour.”

“With Tim.”

“Tight leather pants.”

“Shuddup.” Nick said as Kelsey looked over at him and smiled.

“Well I wouldn’t be talking about his leather pants if you didn’t wear any yourself.”

“In your dreams.” Nick said as Kelsey moved, moaning from pain as she sat up in bed, “You hurt that bad?”

“Yes.” Kelsey said, “I probably have a big bruise on my ass.”

“Aww, want me to rub it?”

“In your dreams.” Kelsey said as she reached for the remote and turned the TV on. She turned it to CMT to see a Dixie Chicks video going off and CMT news coming on. Nick layed there closing his eyes again until he heard Kelsey singing.

There’s a lot that has been going on in Kelsey
Baker’s world lately and we’re not just talking
about her hit song either. With her debut album
staying at number 4 on the country charts, and
number 19 on the overall Billboard 200, she showed
up last night at the American Music Awards in Los
Angeles with her date Nick Carter of the Backstreet
Boys. Not only does he star in her new video
along with his bandmate Kevin Richardson, but
they are now dating they told reporters on the red
carpet. Coming out in the open about their relationship
wasn’t all that they did last night. Kelsey and Nick also
got into a fight with rival boyband ‘N Sync last night
at the BMG after party where they took on Justin
Timberlake and Chris Kirkpatrick. Kelsey will also
be on Tim McGraw’s new tour that’s starting on
January 22 in Jacksonville, Florida where hopefully,

her and Faith will not be pulling each other’s hair.

“Oh my god.” Kelsey said as she sat there in shock. Nick sat up in bed and looked over at her, “Yo, when did my personal life make CMT news?”

“Since your with me and you got in a fight with ‘N Sync last night.” Nick said as Kelsey started laughing.

“Pulling Faith’s hair?” Kelsey asked as she shook her head, “This is so whack.”

“You are now known as the bad ass of country music.”

“I am an American bad ass.” Kelsey said as Nick laughed and her cell phone rung, “Damn, who’s calling me this early.” as she reached over, taking it out of her bag, “Hello?”

“Hey sweetie. How are you?”

“Oh hey mama. I just woke up.” Kelsey said as Nick started to laugh a little and looked over at her, “How was the test?”

“Oh they are fine. I was going to call last night but I figured you were busy and now I have heard why.” Sharon said as Kelsey rolled her eyes.

“It’s no big deal mama. Justin Timberlake was wanting to be an asshole and Nick and I took care of it. That’s all.” Kelsey said.

“You better be careful.”

“I am. I really am. I’m great. I’m just dreading going back to Nashville.”

“Wanna stay with Nick?”

“Yes. I thought about coming home a day or two and -”

“Oh no, you need to rehearse for the tour.” Sharon said as Kelsey sat there, scratching her head. Nick started to laugh because of the expression on her face, “Is that Nick?”

“Oh yeah.” Kelsey said as she laughed a little.

“Didn’t you just say you just woke up?” Sharon asked as Kelsey closed her eyes and looked over at Nick.

“Umm yeah, I did.” Kelsey said as Sharon started to laugh.

“Let me speak to him.”

“Uh oh. Um okay.”

“Hurry up.” Sharon said as Kelsey put her hand over the phone and looked over at Nick.

“She wants to talk to you.”

“Oh god.” Nick said as she handed him the phone, “Hello?”

“Nick?”

“Yeah?”

“This is Kelsey’s mom.”

“Oh, I’ve heard all about you.” Nick said as Kelsey sat there, practically biting her nails, looking over at Nick.

“I’ve heard all about you too. Rachel keeps me informed.”

“Oh I’m sure she does. She keeps me informed too you know.” Nick said as Kelsey looked over at him.

“Good. I know she told you.” Sharon said as Nick looked over at Kelsey and back at the TV infront of them.

“Yeah she did.”

“Well, it’s not looking too good. I had some test done yesterday and the Cancer is spreading.”

“Damn.”

“What?” Kelsey asked looking over at Nick who shook his head, telling her nothing.

“Do not tell Kelsey. I’m just telling you so she won’t be alone when the worst happends which is looking like it’s going to be sooner than later.” Sharon said, “And I want you to be there for her when that happends.”

“You don’t have to worry, I will.” Nick said as he looked down and noticed Kelsey was looking at him.

“Good, and don’t let her get in anymore fist fights. She’s got a temper and just because she’s dating someone in Backstreet Boys doesn’t mean she can beat ‘N Sync up.” Sharon said as Nick cracked up laughing.

“I won’t.”

“Okay good, put her back on.” Sharon said as Nick handed the phone back to Kelsey.

“You’re mom is as whack as you man.” Nick said as he laughed.

“What did you tell him?” Kelsey asked into the phone as Nick looked over at him.

“Oh just that he had better not hurt you. All of those things to scare him away.” Sharon said, “I need to go. They’re going to run some more test soon.”

“Oh okay. Well I’ll call you when I get back to Nashville.”

“Okay. Love you.”

“Love you too. Bye.” Kelsey said as she hung up the phone and looked over at Nick, “What did my mom tell you?”

“Just joking. She’s whack man.” Nick said laughing, “So we leave each other today.”

“Yeah, I know. I wanted us to be together last night but -”

“Yeah after the run in with Justin, nah, wasn’t the best time for that.”

“Yeah.” Kelsey said as she looked around, “But now -”

“Hmm.” Nick mumbled as Kelsey leaned up, kissing him slowly when someone started knocking on the front door, “Now wouldn’t be the time either.”

“Damn.” Kelsey said as she sighed.

“Yeah.”

“I’ll go get it.” Kelsey said as she crawled out of bed, putting her hand at her waist and walked to the door to see Rachel standing ouside. She unlocked the door and opened it up, looking at her.

“Nice show last night.” Rachel said as she walked in, throwing some papers down on the coffee table infront of the sofa, “Do not go and pull anymore shit like that.”

“Listen, don’t start bitching at me okay because -”

“You do not go and jump in a fucking fight between a Backstreet Boy and two N Syncer’s. If they want to fight, let them fucking fight.” Rachel said as Kelsey looked at her and Nick walked out of the room, standing in the doorway, “And you!”

“Oh god.” Nick said as he rolled his eyes at her.

“Don’t ‘Oh God’ me.” Rachel said as she started to say something else and Kelsey interrupted her.

“Oh shut the fuck up Rachel!” Kelsey yelled as Nick looked in shock over at her, “You don’t even know what went on. Justin cornered me about me always dissing him, I had a flashback of what happened and I freaked out and told Nick.”

“Oh.”

“Yeah ‘Oh’.” Kelsey said, “It wasn’t just us picking a fight with them because we don’t like them.”

“Well that’s not what it looks like.”

“Well I don’t care what the hell it looks like.”

“You should.”

“Well I don’t. My own damn mother is not bitching at me like this, but you are. I don’t regret what I did except for my ass hurting.” Kelsey said as Nick cracked up laughing a little and Kelsey looked back at him and back at Rachel, “So can you please excuse us and let us have some time alone before I have to leave?”

“Sure.” Rachel said as she looked over at Nick and walked out of the room, slamming the door.

“God damn, you go girl.” Nick said as Kelsey stood there looking pissed off, “Uh oh, someone’s pissed off.”

“Yes I am.”

“Someone’s going to have to get unpissed.”

“No, I won’t.”

“Yes you are.”

“No I won’t.” Kelsey said as Nick walked up to her, taking her hands, and holding them, “Don’t try to make me happy.”

“Awww, you’re cute when you’re pissed.” Nick said as Kelsey looked up at him, and back down as she began to laugh, “Come on, we’ve got a few hours. Let’s go grab a bite to eat or something.”

“Okay.” Kelsey said as she leaned up, giving him a little kiss, “Let’s get dressed.”

“Shower?”

“Hmmm.. I dunno.”

“Oh come on, I know your back hurts. I’ll wash it for you.”

“Well in that case.” Kelsey said as she smiled at him and he turned around, leading her into the bedroom where the bathroom was, “But.”

“What?”

“I said my ass hurt not my back.” Kelsey said as Nick turned around and looked at her laughing as he kicked the bedroom door closed.

“Ugh!” Rachel said as she walked back into her hotel room, slamming the door while David looked up from the TV at her.

“Rough little meeting with the female wrestler?” David asked as Rachel stopped walking, putting her hand on her hip, “I guess not.”

“No. She’s so fucking starstruck in love she doesn’t care about anything else.” Rachel said, “She keeps this up and she’s going to get a damn reputation.”

“No she won’t.” David said as Rachel sat down in a chair and he looked over at her, “She’s having fun. Damn. It’s nice to see her happy and not locked up in her room all of the time.”

“She damn well better not.” Rachel said, crossing her arms as David laughed.

“I really don’t want you go.” Nick said as Kelsey looked over at him as they sat there side by side in a booth at the same little cafe that they had went to back in December when they wrote “Single White Female”.

“Yeah well I don’t either.” Kelsey said as she took a sip of her Coke, “But aren’t you going to come to the first show?”

“Definetly and then I get to meet your mom.” Nick said smiling.

“Yep, she’ll be there.” Kelsey said smiling as she leaned over, giving him a little kiss, “Guess we should stop all of this kissy kissy stuff in public huh?” Nick just looked around the cafe to see nobody in there.

“Nobody’s in here really but us.” Nick said laughing, “I do hope you know that next time I see Timberlake alone I’m beating the shit out of him.”

“Uh Nick.” Kelsey said as she closed her eyes, “Don’t. Just leave it alone. I will just keep on dissing them. Not like he’s going to say WHY I’m dissing them.”

“Exactly.” Nick said as he smiled over at her, “Think you’re mom likes me?”

“I think so. I think she’ll like you more after you meet.” Kelsey said as she started to chew on a french fry and began talking with her mouth full, “Everybody likes you more after they really meet you.”

“Didn’t like me that much before we actually met?” Nick asked as he started to laugh.

“Nah, I liked ya already well enough.” Kelsey said as she smiled, “I’m gonna miss you.”

“I’m gonna miss you too.” Nick said as he leaned over, giving her a little kiss on the lips.
