“It’s too early.” Kelsey said as she sat there in a chair in the old mansion early that next morning. She kept propping her elbow up on the chair so she could prop her head up and close her eyes, “I’m ready to go back to bed.”

“Shouldn’t have stayed out so late.” Rachel said as Kelsey peeked her eyes open at her.

“Oh shut up.” Kelsey said as Rachel laughed a little, “When the hell are we gonna pick this dude. I’m ready to get this over with.”

“Plans?”

“Actually yes. To sleep.” Kelsey said as she moved her arm and looked around.

“Well he’s already been casted.” Rachel said as she took a sip of her coffee.

“And I didn’t approve him?” Kelsey asked as Rachel started to laugh.

“Well I approved him for you. I’m pretty sure you will approve of him.” Rachel said as Kelsey looked over at her.

“What did you do?” Kelsey asked as Rachel laughed at her, “Rachel.”

“Kelsey!” Kevin exclaimed as Kelsey turned her head to see Kevin and Nick walked over towards them.

“Oh my god.” Kelsey mumbled as Rachel started laughing.

“You look beautiful this morning.” Kevin said as Kelsey gave him a little wave and did the same to Nick, “Oh someone’s grumby. So is he.”

“Shut up Kev.” Nick mumbled as he waved back at Kelsey.

“Alright, so where’s this dude that you approved?” Kelsey asked as she looked over at Rachel “And do not tell me -” as she looked over at Nick who put his hands in his pockets, pressing his lips together and looked up at the cieling, “Good god.”

“That’d be Nick.” Kevin said as he patted him on the back roughly and Nick started to cough.

“Damn Kev.” Nick said, “All I know is Kevin tells me I’ve got to get up early.”

“Rachel.” Kelsey said as she looked over at Rachel who was smiling.

“Oh it’s nothing big.” Rachel said, “You play the piano and then leave.”

“I don’t know how to play the damn piano.” Nick muttered as he rolled his eyes.

“You don’t play it really. You just pretend you do. Then when Kelsey comes down the stairs, you walk out.” Rachel said, “That’s all there is to it. Nothing else. Your scenes will be shot today and you won’t be working all day at all.”

“Do I get paid?” Nick asked as Kevin elbowed him, “Damn Kev.”

“You get Kelsey.” Rachel said as Kelsey looked at her in shock.

“Damn Rachel. Gee, toss me away. Good thing it’s Nick and not some stranger on the street.” Kelsey said as she looked up at Nick.

“I get Kelsey?” Nick asked as he smiled, “Sweet.”

“Well I’ll be damned.” Kelsey said as she looked away, “I can’t even get any say so in my own damn video this time.”

“No, you can’t.” Rachel said as she pointed at Nick, “Look at him. He’s a fan. You’re not gonna tell him no are you?”

“Oh go to hell.” Kelsey said as Kevin started to laugh.

“Trust me, I don’t have to be in it if you don’t want me to. My brother and AJ will ride my ass about it enough.” Nick said as Kelsey looked at him.

“We’re not even in the same scenes together are we?”

“Just one.” Rachel said as Kelsey looked over at her and back at Nick.

“Okay.” Kelsey said as she looked at them, “But Nick can’t play the piano.”

“Damn sure can’t.” Nick replied laughing.

“But Kevin can.” Kelsey said as Kevin looked confused.

“Kevin what?” Kevin asked.

“You play the piano. Nick walks out.” Kelsey said, “Oh come on.”

“Damn should we get AJ to come do a strip tease on top of the piano?” Nick asked as Kelsey looked at him, “No don’t say you want that.”

“Think he would?”

“Flirt.”

“Am not.”

“Ohhh testy.” Rachel said, looking between them, “Great, then, it’s settled.”

“Yeah.” Kevin said as he looked over at Nick who looked at him.

“God.” Kelsey said as she walked out of the dressing room in the big dark teal dress that she was going to wear and Nick started to laugh at her, “Don’t laugh at me.”

“Why?” Nick asked as he started to laugh, “You look so pissed off.”

“Turn you on?”

“Huh?”

“Nothing.” Kelsey said as Nick looked away and cut his eyes back over at her, “I feel stupid.”

“You look beautiful.” Nick whispered as Kelsey looked over at him.

“Thanks.” Kelsey said as she looked down at the dress, “Seriously yo, rumors gonna start flying.”

“So, there’s nothing going on.”

“Nothing at all.”

“Three kisses, two of which were -”

“Okay you can just shut up now.” Kelsey said as Nick smiled at her, “Please shut up.”

“Why?”

“Just I don’t like talking about them things.” Kelsey said as Nick looked at her, “I’m shy.”

“Sure.”

“Well I am.”

“Okay, but I liked them. Alot.” Nick said as Kelsey looked at him and was about to say something when Rachel walked in.

“Oh you’re ready. Good, you need to go and start shooting. Nick, we’ll need you in a little bit, but you can come out and watch.” Rachel said as Nick smiled a little.

“I’ll be out there in a little bit.” Nick said as Kelsey smiled over at him and walked out, with Rachel following her.

Nick sat there, looking down at the shirt and pants he had on and looked over to his left, looking in the mirror. He looked at himself in the reflection until the looked back over at the door and started to smile.

“What the fuck am I doing sitting here?” Nick thought to himself as he got up and walked out of the room. He walked through all of the film crew and up to where Rachel was standing as Kevin sat there, dressed in black, playing the piano while they filming a shot with Kelsey as she began to sing the beginning of the song.

We agreed that it was over

“Uh Kelsey said Nicholas liked this song.” Rachel whispered over at Nick as he looked at her.

“Yes Nicholas does.” Nick said as Rachel started to laugh a little, “Who’s idea was this?”

“Actually mine.” Rachel said as she looked over at him, “You know you like it.”

“Fine, okay I do.” Nick said, “I wanted to spend the day with her. Well I kinda am.”

“Exactly.”

“And I need her cell phone number. You have it.” Nick said as Rachel started laughing.

They continued to film the video throughout the day, shooting at different angels and different locations through out the house. The director was actually starting to think they could be finished in that one day since they only had two or three more scenes to shoot and it was going on 10:30 that night.

All throughout the day during the breaks Nick and Kelsey would sit there talking, making fun of each other, and flirting back and forth while Rachel, David, Kevin, and Howie who had showed up, watched them.

“Alright, Nick, you’re part will be coming up in the next take.” the director said as he sat there, looking around bored and Kevin patted him on the back.

All day and I finally get to work. I’m such a slave.” Nick said as Kevin laughed and they began rolling film on Kelsey who was sitting down on the floor beside a old abandoned bed, still in her dress.

Now I’m writing you this letter

“Okay Kelsey, get up and start walking out of the room slowly.” the director said as Kelsey got up slowly and began to walk out of the room singing, and looking around, “Start running to the stairs and down them.”

“Okay cut.” the director said as he pointed over at Nick, “You.”

“Me.”

“Yes you.”

“He’s in trouble.” Kelsey said as she crossed her arms and looked around, while Nick did a little smirk at her.

“Kevin on the piano, Kelsey comes running out the door, you smile at her and you walk out. Can you do that?” the director asked as Nick did a big cheesy grin, “Okay not that big of a smile.”

“Okay.” Nick said as he smiled a little.

“Perfect.” the director said, “Now let’s take this downstairs.”

“See you down there.” Nick said, sticking his tongue out at Kelsey who had to stay on the second floor while everybody else moved downstairs

“Ready?” Kevin asked as Nick looked over at him. Kevin just wanted to laugh.

“AJ’s go gonna give me shit for this. Me on CMT. God dammit.” Nick muttered as Kevin laughed more and walked over to take his place at the piano.

Nick stood there, watching everybody walking downstairs and looked up to see Kelsey talking with the director at the top of the stairs. Finally everybody was down and the director came down the stairs, which ended just a few feet away from the door.

“Okay, everybody ready?” the director asked as he looked up at Kelsey who was around the corner, ready to take her cue in walking and then running down the stairs, “Action!”

Kelsey began walking in a hurry, singing, until she finally reached the stairs.

She ran down the stairs and reached the bottom step, tripping over her dress and Nick reached over, catching her before she fell. She just looked down and then looked up at him when the director yelled cut.

“Gee, you could atleast say, ‘Oh, thanks Nick.’.” Nick said sarcastically as Kelsey scrunched her nose up at him, making a funny face.

“Okay, let’s do it again and Kelsey, this time, pick your dress up when your running.” the director said as Kelsey rolled her eyes at Nick and began walking up the stairs. Nick just stood there looking around, finally looking over at the others who had a laugh on their faces.

“One more time.” the director said as Kelsey looked around the corner again at him, “Action!”

Kelsey reached the steps where she looked down at Nick and began running down them while she continued to sing.

Kelsey stopped at the bottom of the stairs where Nick gave her a little smile and walked out the door.

“And that’s a wrap!” the director said as Kelsey sighed and everybody started clapping and Nick peeked back in the door.

“I’m so good. See I do my work and the video is over. Where’s my paycheck?” Nick asked as Rachel walked up.

“Let her go change and you can have her.” Rachel said as Kelsey looked at her.

“I want her like that.” Nick said as he grabbed Kelsey’s hand, pulling her out the door.

“Dude, I can’t go out in this dress.” Kelsey said, “You moron.” as Nick practically dragged her down the steps.

“They said we could keep the clothes.” Nick said as Kelsey looked around.

“Kelsey!” Rachel yelled as she looked back out the door, “Oh good god.”

“She’s gone?” David asked, looking out the door.

“Damn boy, wanted his payback and left.” Rachel said as she walked back in to see Kevin walk up, “You’re boy has left with my girl.”

“Oh well, she’ll return safely.” Kevin said as Rachel rolled her eyes, looking away.

“Where the hell are we?” Kelsey asked as she sat there in the passanger seat of a van that Nick had taken from the video shoot, “Isn’t this the van that we took from the hotel?”

“Uh, yeah.” Nick said looking around, “Guess they can’t leave til we go back.”

“Oh god. I’m scared. I want to go home.” Kelsey said as Nick looked over at her, “Just finished the video and you just sweep me away. I would have given you a date tomorrow or something, but no you just had to have me now.”

“Oh would you just shut up.” Nick said as Kelsey looked over at him, “I still never got a thanks for stopping you from falling flat on your face.”

“Thanks.”

“You’re very welcome.

“Great.” Kelsey said, “So can we go now?”

“What, don’t like being alone with me? I wanted some peace and quiet but I don’t think I’m gonna get that with you.” Nick said as Kelsey looked away, “You talk so damn much. That little southern voice, just yap yap yap yap yap.”

“Yo, I do not.”

“Now she’s ghetto.”

“Oh please.”

“Say that again.”

“Pervert.” Kelsey said as Nick started to laugh and she looked back over at him, “Thanks for doing that today.”

“Doing what?”

“The video. It wasn’t my idea.”

“Mine either. It was Rachel’s and Kevin’s I think.” Nick said as he propped his arms up on the steering wheel, “Not that I minded.”

“Me either. I got to spend the day with you.” Kelsey said as Nick started to laugh a little.

“And that damn director. He got on my fucking nerves.” Nick growled as Kelsey laughed outloud, looking back over at him as he looked over at her, “So.”

“So.”

“What’s gonna happen now?” Nick asked, “I know you’re Leigh. You know I’m Nicholas.”

“Well I could give you my number.”

“Got it from Rachel.”

“Fast worker huh?”

“Yeah, I told you I’m good.” Nick said as he smiled and Kelsey looked away, then looked back at him, “I’ll make sure I don’t loose it this time.”

“Good.” Kelsey said as she smiled a little and looked back down, “I’m gonna be here like 3 more days I think.”

“Yeah.” Nick said, “We are too.”

“Well, we’ll see each other over the next three days alot I assume when we’re not working and just be friends and hang out and whatever happends, it’ll happen. Kinda like how we met, I mean, I know we kissed last night -”

“Yeah, I wasn’t planning on that happening, just - well I couldn’t help myself.” Nick said as Kelsey looked down smiling a little, “But I agree. I mean, after 3 days we won’t see each other much anyway.”

“Yeah, Christmas and all then going to work.” Kelsey said, “I’ll probably be starting a tour.”

“With who?”

“Tim McGraw.” Kelsey said as she smiled, “My favorite. He asked me at the awards.”

“Sweet.” Nick said, “So we definetly won’t get to hang out then.”

“Nope.” Kelsey said, “Chat and stuff I guess or the phone.”

“Yeah.” Nick said, “Oh well, I mean, we’ll figure something out.” he said as he looked over at her and she looked up at him, “I mean we’re just friends.”

“Yeah, just friends. I mean, I’m single.” Kelsey said as Nick looked in shock.

“Holy shit! I am too!” Nick exclaimed as Kelsey busted out laughing, “Come on, let’s go on back.”

“Okay.” Kelsey said as she smiled, looking out of the window as Nick cranked the van back up and pulled off.
