“Tell me what?” Kelsey asked as she looked over at Rachel who was looking at her, “You don’t think I should go out with Nicholas now?”

“Oh no.” Rachel said, “I definetly think you should.” as she smiled.

“You sure?” Kelsey asked, “Then what do you need to tell me.”

“Well, um..” Rachel said as she looked away and started to smile, “You and Nick were kinda cute together last night.”

“Really?” Kelsey asked as she started to laugh, “He kept laughing at me. I guess I was funny.”

“You are funny Kelsey.” Rachel said laughing, “But you know what?”

“What?”

“I think it’s good that you still want to give Nicholas a shot too. I mean you’ve got Nick basically lustin’ after -”

“He’s not lusting after me.” Kelsey said laughing.

“Yeah whatever.” Rachel said, “But you still want to go out and meet this Nicholas.”

“Yeah I do. I like him.” Kelsey said, “Thank god he’s not mad at me about yesterday.”

“Yeah it was a busy day.” Rachel said as Kelsey looked out the window.

“Do you know why my mom wants me to come home?” Kelsey asked as she looked back over at Rachel.

“I don’t know.”

“I’ve got a bad feeling about it. I mean I know she hasn’t been feeling well lately. That’s why she hasn’t been going around with us.” Kelsey said, “Kinda scares me.”

“Why?” Rachel asked as Kelsey continued to look out the window.

“Because I have no father, I have no brother or sister and if something happends to my mom, I’ll be all alone.” Kelsey said as she looked over at Rachel.

“Well no, you’ve got your other family and you’ve got me and David -”

“Huh?” David asked as he lifted his head up, “I heard my name.”

“Go back to sleep.” Rachel said as Kelsey started to laugh a little, “You’ve got us and well you’ve got Nicholas who you can talk to. You’ve got a lot of people.”

“Yeah.” Kelsey said.

“And you’ve got Princess.” Rachel said as Kelsey started to laugh.

“I miss Princess. She’s all alone at my place.” Kelsey said as Rachel laughed.

“You’ll see her soon enough. Maybe we can bring her back to LA with us. You really need a dog. Be like Brian and take him everywhere with you.”

“I neve saw Tyke with Brian.” Kelsey said as she laughed a little.

“Ya know, come to think of it. I didn’t either.” Rachel said as she shrugged her shoulders.

“Yo I gots the number.” Nick said as he stood in AJ’s room waving the note infront of AJ’s face. AJ just stood there laughing at him.

“Who’s number? Carmen Elecktra, lemme see.” AJ said as he tried to snatch it away from him.

“Fuck no.” Nick said, “Kelsey. She had to leave earlier than expected so she left it for me at the front office.”

“Oh god.”

“I’ve got her number. I’ve got her number.” Nick said as he started to do a little dance and AJ hit him in the back of the head, “Damn dude stop that.”

“Don’t act too happy. What ’bout your personal ad chick? Gonna give her to me? I’m single.” AJ said as he rubbed his hands together and Nick held his hand up to AJ.

“Psh, whatever dude.” Nick said, “Hell no you can’t have her.”

“So when you gonna call her?” AJ asked as Nick sat down, looking at the note again.

“Later. She said she was going home, I guess to uh Georgia I think and well I’ll call her later, maybe tonight when I know she’s there and everything cause I think she said she was going to New York tomorrow. Damn I can’t remember.” Nick said, “I’ll call her later.”

“Damn, do you have her measurements too cause ya seem to know every damn thing else.” AJ said as Nick cracked up laughing.

“Why the hell do I always feel out of place?” David asked as Kelsey looked over at him as they were driving in the car to go to her house later that day.

“Maybe because you’re from a big city?” Kelsey asked as David gave her a dirty look.

“I don’t feel so comfortable myself either.” Rachel said.

“Maybe because your from a big city? Damn you people. Hell I hate it here too.” Kelsey said as both Rachel and David started to laugh, “And if everyone and their cousin comes over I’m going to go hide in my room.”

“Still got the Backstreet posters up?” David asked as Kelsey looked over at him while he started to laugh.

“Oh kiss my ass.” Kelsey said as Rachel started cracking up and they pulled up to the house, “Damn. Can I go on to New York?”

“No.” Rachel said as Kelsey growled and looked around as she started to get out of the car.

“David get my bags.” Kelsey said as she shut the door and started to walk away from the car acting sassy as David gave her a dirty look.

“She won one freakin’ award and she thinks she’s Britney.” David mumbled as Rachel started to laugh and Kelsey turned around looking at him.

“Oh I’ll be god damned.” Kelsey said as she heard a door open.

“Kelsey! Don’t talk like that.” Sharon, her mother said as Kelsey turned around.

“Oh damn, sorry mama.” Kelsey said as she walked up the steps and walked up, giving her a hug, “What did I need to come home for?”

“We’ll talk about it later.” Sharon said as Rachel walked up giving Sharon a hug, “You didn’t let her stay out too late last night did you?”

“Oh of course not.” Rachel said as she started to follow Kelsey in the house, “She almost slept in a guy’s room - but never stay out too late.”

“Rachel!” Kelsey said as she turned around looking at her and then looked at her mom while David walked in, carrying the bags laughing, “God.”

“Some guy’s room? Who? What? Why?!?!” Sharon asked as Kelsey rolled her eyes.

“Because I didn’t have the suite key. Rachel and David was downstairs at the party and I was sleepy.” Kelsey said as she sat down in the living room, looking around.

“Who?”

“Nick.”

“Nick who?” Sharon asked.

“Carter.”

“Who?”

“You don’t know him.” Kelsey said laughing as Rachel leaned over whispering something in Sharon’s ear as she went to sit down.

“Ohh that Nick?” Sharon asked, “And you were going to sleep in his room?”

“God.” Kelsey said as she looked over at David who sat down and shook his head, “I was tired. I had a long day. He was in the suite next to ours and he was going to let me sleep on the sofa in there. That’s it.”

“But you don’t know him.” Sharon said as Rachel and David started to laugh.

“Mama, not everybody is a mass murder.” Kelsey said, “He’s harmless. Trust me.”

“Uh huh.” Sharon said as she looked over at Rachel, “She’s not going out with him is she?”

“Not yet.” Rachel said as Kelsey looked at her in shock as Rachel looked at her, “Oh come on. When you we go back to LA and they are there. You two will start dating. Watch. I guarantee it.”

“Can I make a bet?” David asked as Rachel gave him a evil look.

“I don’t think you should date anybody else in the business.” Sharon said as Kelsey looked around.

“Oh my good god. I had a conversastion with someone last night. I’m not dating anybody.” Kelsey said, “Now what did I come home for besides having my personal life planned, betted on, and picked apart?”

“Well.” Sharon said as she looked over at Rachel. Kelsey looked over at Rachel and then back at Kelsey, “Let’s go up to your room and talk.”

“Uh oh, what did I do now?” Kelsey asked.

“Oh no, nothing.” Sharon said, “Just I need to talk to you about some things.”

“Okay.” Kelsey said as she stood up and started to walk upstairs to her bedroom as Sharon followed her.

“Yo.” David said as he sat up in the chair, “What’s up? You know?”

“Yeah.” Rachel said, “I know.”

“Damn.” Nick said as he stood there in his suite, looking at the note Kelsey had left him, “Put that back in my pocket.” as he sat down on the bed, “Now has this baby logged me online yet.” He looked down at the laptop as he started to giggle, “Ah yeah, it has. Good girl.”

“Fuck I’m talking to my computer.”

He shook his head, opening up his e-mail and logging in to see 1 new message. He clicked on the inbox to see that it was from Leigh and opened it up to look at it.

“Damn.” Nick thought, “Yeah I’ll be on tonight.” as he hit reply so that he could e-mail her back.

“What is it?” Kelsey asked as she looked in her room and looked around, “Damn I need to change this room.” as she looked over at a Backstreet poster on the wall.

“Why don’t you come over here and sit down.” Sharon said as Kelsey walked over and they both sat down on the edge of her bed.

“What is it? Is something wrong?” Kelsey asked as Sharon looked down and Kelsey looked at her again, “Well?”

“I went to the doctor yesterday morning. I finally got the nerves to go and have a check up.” Sharon said as Kelsey continued to look at her.

“And you’re okay right?”

“No, I know why I’ve been feeling bad lately.” Sharon said, “They gave me a physical and did these test on me.”

“And?” Kelsey asked, as she was getting worried.

“Well I’ve got cancer.” Sharon said as Kelsey looked in shock and was about to say something, “You know I haven’t been to the doctor in ages.”

“Because you had been busy with me.” Kelsey said as she started to cry and wipe tears away.

“No, just because I always put it off.” Sharon said, “It’s not because of you.”

“What’s wrong, I mean what kind is it?” Kelsey asked as Sharon looked over at her and looked back down.

“Ovarian cancer. They said that it’s pretty bad and that Surgery could help but chemotheropy wouldn’t. That it’s spreading too much.” Sharon said as Kelsey started to get upset.

“What does that mean?” Kelsey asked as Sharon looked over at her while Kelsey wiped tears away from her eyes.

“That there’s nothign that they can do really. I don’t want to have the surgery Kelsey.” Sharon said as Kelsey started crying, getting even more upset, “That doesn’t mean I’m going to die.”

“I don’t want you to.” Kelsey said as she reached over hugging her, “You’re going to come with us tomorrow.”

“No, I can’t. I’ve got to stay here so I can keep going to the doctor and get alot of rest. That’s what the doctor told me. I’ll be okay.” Sharon said, “Just stop crying. I’m gonna be okay.”

“I just don’t want to loose you like I do everybody else.” Kelsey said crying as Sharon held her trying to calm her down.

“No you won’t. You won’t loose me. You don’t know how proud I was of you last night.”

“Really?”

“Yes, of course I was. Plus what you said with ‘N Sync on the stage made me pretty proud too.” Sharon said as Kelsey started to laugh a little, “See stop crying. Everything’s going to be okay. I just wanted to be the one to tell you and in person and before Christmas.”

“You’ve gotta promise that I won’t loose you.” Kelsey said as she stopped hugging her and looked at her.

“I promise.” Sharon said, “I’m not going anywhere.”

“Okay.” Kelsey said as she tried to stop crying and wiped more tears away.

“Now come on, let’s go back downstairs, and get to cooking dinner. The family is coming over soon.” Sharon said as Kelsey sighed, rolling her eyes as she got up, following her mother out of the room.

“This movie sucks ass.” Nick said as him and Brian sat there in the little living room of Brian’s suite watching a movie.

“Nick, it does not.” Brian said as he put a peice of popcorn in his mouth, watching it.

“Dude it does.” Nick said as he looked around, “I should call Kelsey.”

“What are you gonna say?”

“I dunno, be like um hey how’s home?” Nick asked as Brian laughed outloud at him, “I dunno.”

“Just say hey, how was your flight? Stuff like that.” Brian said as Nick reached in his pocket for the number.

“Fuck.”

“What?” Brian asked as he looked over at him. Nick stood up, pulling his pockets out of his jeans and looked into the sofa, “What?”

“I’ve lost the number.”
