It was now three days later, December 5th. The day before Kelsey and her crew would be leaving Los Angeles for Las Vegas so she could get ready and rehearse for her performance on the Billboard Awards.

The past three days, she’d been busy shooting her new video, and also rehearsing for the awards. The video shoot took more time then they thought that it would. They worked basically 18 hours days both days and finally finished it late the night before.

Kelsey had barely been online. She didn’t even have time to check her mail or anything. Whenever she had a spare moment, she’d fall asleep somewhere, only to be woken up and told to get back to work.

Nick on the other hand, hadn’t been doing much of anything - except wondering the hallways of their floor at the hotel. He’d leave and go to the studio with the guys for a while during the day and play around with ideas for the album, but he would come back and get online. When he sat there online with nothing to do, he’d look outside his door and walk by Kelsey’s suite, but never see them coming or leaving. He was starting to wonder if they had left. So what did he do?

He went down to the lobby and try to pull a ‘Kevin’ and sweet talk the receptionist into telling him if she left or not. It didn’t work. I guess that innocent puppy dog face couldn’t get him everything he wanted, so he’d go back up to his floor and walk by again. He’d go back in and check his mail - only to see his inbox empty again.

He’d actually wondered if something had happened to Leigh, or well Kelsey. But it hadn’t, she was just too busy to get online.

Kelsey was too busy to do anything really, but over the next few days, her work load would be lighter.

“Alright.” Nick said as he stood in AJ’s doorway, trying to get away from him.

“I’m coming over to your room tonight and we’re gonna write.” AJ said as Nick rolled his eyes.

“Alright AJ.” Nick said as he tried to shut the door and AJ stopped him again, talking to him.

“I’m going in our suite, I’m going in my room. I’m shutting my door - ” Kelsey said as she stood in the elevator going to their floor at the hotel with Rachel, David, Joey, and Samantha.

“Getting online.” Rachel and David said at the same time as Kelsey looked over at them.

“Oh shut up.” Kelsey said as she crossed her arms, “I haven’t been on in like 3 days and like.. you know Rach.”

“Yeah I know.” Rachel said as she looked away.

“Know what?” Joey asked as Samantha hit her on the arm.

“Stop being so nosey.” Samantha said, “It’s none of your business.”

“I’ve got to e-mail someone back and I haven’t talked to them in 3 days.” Kelsey said as she looked up at the floor numbers.

“Bye AJ.” Nick said as he shut the door and started to walk slowly down to his room. He walked by Kelsey’s suite, looking at it when he heard the elevator open and a girl’s voice.

Rachel, shut up.

“Shit.” Nick said as he ran down to his room, opening up the door and running in, “God damn, shouldn’t be -” as he looked around, “Fuck! I ran. I said I wasn’t gonna run. Damn I’m a wimp.”

“Kelsey, you can’t stay up late tonight. Our flight leaves early in the morning.” Rachel said as Kelsey rolled her eyes while Samantha and Joey went to their rooms.

“I know.” Kelsey said, “Damn, I know when I need sleep and I need it. I’m just going to check my mail and I’m gonna take a nap.”

“Then you’re going to get up and get back online.” Rachel said.

“You bet your sweet ass I am.” Kelsey said as she looked at her and David laughed as he unlocked the door to their suite and walked in, “Now if you excuse me.”

“Yes ma’am.” Rachel said as Kelsey walked into her room, shutting the door while David walked over, getting something to drink out of the little kitchenette, “I’m gonna kill her.”

“What did she do now?” David asked as he took a sip of a can Coke.

“Oh I don’t know if you know or not, I’ve probably been too busy to gossip but Kelsey has a date after we come back to LA.” Rachel said as David sat down on the other end of the sofa from her.

“With who? This internet dude?” David asked as Rachel looked at him, “Lemme guess. It’s gonna be a threesome, although he doesn’t know that?”

“Exactly.” Rachel said, “Don’t you let her out of your site either.”

“Eeeh we’ve still got time to convince her other wise.” David said as he laughed, “Can I take a camera to get a picture of the guys face when he sees that it’s her?

“Sure.” Rachel said as she laughed and David shook his head.

“Three new messages. Damn.” Kelsey thought as she went to read the oldest one first. She clicked on it and then turned her instant messanger on to see if he was online - which he wasn’t, “Damn. Lemme read here.”

“Awww that’s sad. I’d rather sing with Nick than Brian.” Kelsey whispered as she smiled and clicked on the middle e-mail.

“Awww.” Kelsey said as she started to laugh a little, reading the e-mail, “I can have french fries. Damn. Lemme read this other one.” as she clicked on the e-mail and began to read it.

Leigh, Leigh, oh where did Leigh go?!?!

“Awww I didn’t get sick of him.” Kelsey said outloud as she hit reply on the last e-mail and began to e-mail him back.

“Hello?”

“Hey.”

“Hey Nick.”

“I’m a wimp.”

“What did you do now?”

“Rok, I’m a wimp.”

“What?” Brian asked as he started to laugh, holding onto his cell phone, “What happened?”

“I was coming from AJ’s room and I was walking slow and I heard the elevator -” Nick said as Brian interrupted him.

“And?”

“I heard this southern voice and I recognized it.”

“Kelsey?”

“Yes.”

“What did you do Nick?”

“Ran to my damn room man.” Nick said as he closed his eyes, putting his right hand over his face, “Dude I’m a wimp. Why the fuck did I run? Dude I’m a dork.”

“Good lord Nick.” Brian said laughing, “What happened to this big bad act?”

“No idea. I think it’s because I was sure she’d left LA. Maybe to go to Las Vegas you know?” Nick said, “I’m a wimp.”

“Did she see you run?” Brian asked as Nick shook his head.

“I don’t think so. I ran pretty damn fast man.” Nick said Brian busted out laughing, “I really did.”

“And you were all up to going to her room the other night.” Brian said.

“And she was asleep.”

“Damn.” Brian said, “Well so now you know - she’s here.”

“And we leave for Las Vegas tomorrow.” Nick said, “Damn. Wonder if she’s leaving tomorrow. Hey Brian…”

“What? What do you want Nick?” Brian asked as Nick smiled into the phone.

“My mom is getting on my nerves.” Kelsey said as she walked out of her room with her cell phone in her hand, “She wants me to come home after the awards and before we go to New York.”

“There’s no way.” Rachel said, “You’re basically booked until we go home for Christmas.”

“I know.” Kelsey said as she sat down in a chair, sitting in Indian style, “And Nicholas e-mailed me back. Three times.”

“Oh, once a day?” Rachel asked as Kelsey smiled.

“Yes, he said he thinks he knows of a resturaunt that serves burgers and fries.” Kelsey said laughing.

“Oh man. That’s right up your alley.” Rachel said, “I still dunno about this.”

“David’s gonna go. I’ll be fine. You can even go and have dinner with David if you want to. I mean you are filling for divorce. You can David can go out.” Kelsey said laughing as Rachel looked at her.

“If there’s one thing I know, you don’t mix business with pleasure and besides. I’ve known David too damn long. Please. He’s like my brother.” Rachel said as Kelsey laughed more, “I’ll let him go. I’m sure you don’t want me watching your every move.”

“Not really.” Kelsey said as she smiled a little.

Knock! Knock!

“Who’s that?” Kelsey asked as she got up and started to walk over to the door.

“Probably David again.” Rachel said as Kelsey looked out the peep hole.

“Dude, it’s Brian.” Kelsey said as she looked over at Rachel. Kelsey stood there moving from side to side, looking out the peep hole.

“Child what are you doing?” Rachel asked.

“Looking to see if someone else is with him.”

“Let him in.”

“Okay.” Kelsey said as she tucked her hair behind her ears and unlocked the door opening it, “Hi.”

“Hey.” Brian said as he smiled, doing a little wave, “What’s up?”

“Nothing really. Just relaxing.” Kelsey said, “Come on in.”

“Thanks.” Brian said as he walked in and Kelsey shut the door.

“God dammit, he went in!” Nick said as he walked out into the middle of the hallway, “I didn’t tell his ass to go in. I wanted to hear what they had to say.”

“So what’s up?” Kelsey asked as she walked back over and sat down in her chair, “You can have a seat.”

“Oh thanks.” Brian said as he sat down, “I was just coming to see if you guys were still here. I haven’t seen much of ya lately.”

“Yeah, unfortunetly.” Kelsey said as Rachel laughed.

“We’ve been pretty busy the last few days.” Rachel said.

“Oh, alot of work?” Brian asked.

“Yeah, we shot my new video and then we rehearsed some today for the Billboard Awards.” Kelsey said.

“Oh really. That’s cool. When are you leaving for Las Vegas?” Brian asked.

“Early tomorrow morning. Then I have to rehearse again. I need a vacation.” Kelsey said as Brian laughed, “So what are you guys still doing here?”

“Starting working on the album a little. We’re coming back after Vegas until right before Christmas.” Brian said, “We aren’t getting much work done though to be honest.”

“I think I’ve done enough work the past 3 days for all of you.” Kelsey said, “So is Nick still doing the knock and runs?” she asked as Brian almost busted out laughing.

“No, he’s not.” Brian said laughing, “Actually in fact, he heard you guys coming out of the elevator today and he ran back into his room. Don’t tell him I said that though.”

“What’s he scared of? I don’t bite.” Kelsey said laughing.

“That’s just Nick being Nick.” Brian said, “He said he’d meet you in Las Vegas, so be prepared.”

“Yes, I will take all of the alcohol out of Kelsey’s reach.” Rachel said as Brian looked over at her laughing.

“Rachel.” Kelsey said looking at her and then smiling at Brian.

“So whatcha coming back to LA for?” Brian asked.

“I have to record these two songs for these soundtracks. I was suppose to do it this time, but.. didn’t get around to it.” Kelsey said.

“Oh what movies?” Brian asked.

“I couldn’t tell you.” Kelsey said as Rachel laughed.

“One is for the new Jennifer Lopez movie and the other one is for this movie that Reba McEntire is doing.” Rachel said as Brian looked over at her.

“Oh, sounds good.” Brian said, “So are you nervous about the awards?”

“Yeah a little.” Kelsey said laughing, “I mean I’ve never been to any like that before. A bunch of people I like’s gonna be there.”

“Like who?” Brian asked.

“Well Backstreet, although I’ve met 3 out of 5 of you. Then there’s Destiny’s Child and everybody else.” Kelsey said.

“Except ‘N Sync.” Rachel added in.

“I can’t stand them.” Kelsey said as Brian laughed.

“Oh you’ll be just fine.” Brian said as laughed and looked over at the clock on the wall.

“God.” Nick mumbled as he stood in his doorway and looked over at the clock on the TV, “He’s been in there 20 damn minutes. What the fuck is he doing? Having cake and tea?”

“Well it’s been nice, but I need to get back down to my room and call the wife.” Brian said as Kelsey and Rachel started to laugh.

“Alright. Well come on over anytime.” Rachel said as Brian laughed, “Of course when we’re in the same hotel or hell anytime you want.”

“I’ll keep that in mind.” Brian said, “We’ll probably see you in Las Vegas.”

“I’m sure.” Kelsey said, “Tell Nick maybe I’ll run from him there.”

“I sure will.” Brian said as he cracked up laughing, “Ya’ll have a safe trip in the morning.”

“You too. Don’t forget we’re on the same flight.” Kelsey said as Brian smiled.

“Couldn’t forget.” Brian said smiling, “Night.”

“Night.” Kelsey said as she shut and locked the door.

“Well that was interesting.” Rachel said as Kelsey turned around and smiled.

“I’m going to go take a long bubble bath and relax, because I’m scared of what’s gonna happen in the morning.” Kelsey said as she started to walk into her room.

“Mile High Club with Nick?” Rachel asked as Kelsey looked in shock.

“Well about damn time.” Nick said as Brian walked out of Kelsey’s room, strutting himself, walking slowly with a big cheesy smile on his face, “Well, come Rok damn.”

“Well.” Brian said as he walked up to Nick, “She’s performing Let Me Love You. She doesn’t have a date except Rachel, who is her manager and babysitter most of the time. Rachel says she’s really immature which oddly enough reminds me of someone else.”

“And..” Nick said, sounding frustrated.

“And, she’s been busy filming her latest video and rehearsing for her performance on the awards.”

“And?”

“And she’s been really tired lately and is so tired of the room service here which I don’t blame her, it really -”

“Rok, come on now.” Nick said as he looked at him.

“She’s on our flight to Las Vegas in the morning buddy.” Brian said as he patted him on the shoulder, “Get ready. You’re going to be stuck on the same plane for a little while.”

“Ugh.” Nick moaned as he closed his eyes and Brian laughed at him.
