Chapter 5

Chapter Five - Baby’s Got A Secret

[ Nick Narrating ]

She’s mine.

I so have her wrapped around my little finger. Okay maybe not, but she so has me wrapped around hers. I have never in my life been this fascinated by someone that I hardly know. I sit there and see her smiling at me and I want to grab her. I just want to kiss her so hard and suck all of the life out of her to make her into me. Does that make sense? I sound like a vampire. Damn right I want to suck her. Hell, I want to suck her all over her body and more and the thing is, she knows it.

She knows I want her and I’m pretty sure she wants me too. I can tell by these little looks she gives me, and the way she acted like she was going to kiss me and then kissed my cheek. My whole intuition about her was right and she’s everything I thought and more. She’s beautiful and she’s smart. She was the warmest smile and her voice makes me melt every time she opens her mouth.

She is never going to slip from my fingers again, I can promise you that.

Caraline layed there on her bed, looking at the ceiling smiling when she heard a knock at the door. She smiled, sitting up on the bed and took her jacket off, tossing it on the bed, walking over to the door. She peeked out to see Faith standing there and she began to giggle, unlocking the door.

“Well about time you get back!” Faith said as she walked in, seeing Caraline smile, “You’re smiling. I take it went well? Huh? Well? Talk to me here, I need to know,” she said as she sat down on the edge of the bed, “Tell me everything.” Caraline just stood there smiling as she crossed her arms, smiling. “Cara, just talk okay?”

“I like him,” Caraline said as Faith smiled even more, “You know how I’m such a smartass and I’m a flirt. I always try to make people laugh and stuff?” she asked as Faith nodded her head, “Well he’s the same way. Its’ so freaky. I swear, he’s almost like the male version of me. We had these conversations, about nothing in particular but we never stopped talking except for ten minutes during our dinner which we never ate because we were too busy talking,”

“So, you really like him?” Faith asked as she stood up, looking at Caraline who was smiling, pressing her lips together, “So?”

“I really like him,” Caraline said as she shrugged her shoulders, smiling more, “He’s nice and he’s sweet and he knows his limits with me already and you know, that’s like really rare because I’m so straight forward and strong minded, but he knows when to stop and when to shut up already and he like hardly knows me,”

“Caraline has a boyfriend!” Faith yelled as she started jumping up and down and they started to hug. Caraline just stood there laughing, “Oh I’m so happy for you and he’s -”

“He’s not my boyfriend,” Caraline said as she started to laugh. Faith just looked at her in return, “I promise,”

“But -”

“But, we’re going to go out again next time we’re able to,” Caraline said as Faith started to jump up and down, “Don’t get too excited now!”

“I’m not,” Faith said as she smiled again, “I’m just happy,” she said as she hugged her again, “Sleep tight, I’ll see you in the morning,”

“Okay,” Caraline said as she watched Faith walk over to her door, looking back at her, giggling as she walked out of her hotel room. Caraline smiled, tucking her hair behind her ears as she looked over at the mirror at herself, “I did look pretty good didn’t I?”

She smiled at herself, reaching down and unfastening her belt, and her jeans, and slipped them off, leaving them in the middle of the floor. She walked into the bathroom and turned the light on, looking at herself in the mirror and lifted her hair off of her neck, and pushed it on top of her hair, looking at herself, smiling as she bit her bottom lip, smiling.

I have to admit now, I have the biggest crush on Nick Carter. Who would have thought? I can’t really help it, he’s just so fun to be around and he makes me comfortable. Most guys make me nervous but I’m totally infatuated by him. That’s all it is, a crush. Who couldn’t begin to have a crush on him. He’s so crazy and funny and god the way he licks his lips I just want to suck on his bottom lip as a hobby or something.

God, what is wrong with me?

I don’t want to tell Faith or anybody about the crush really. It’ll go away eventually. I do that every once in a while. When I first started working with Faith, I had the BIGGEST crush on Kenny Chesney. It didn’t help with Tim toured with him either, but I got over it. Kenny just thought of me as like Faith’s little sister, which is what Faith calls me, but still.

Finally there’s someone who doesn’t look at me as the kid on the tour, the young one, or the girl next door. Not to mention he’s not old and he’s not greasy. Finally there’s someone my age that totally is into me and you can tell it when he looks at me. He wants me. That feels weird to say, but he totally wants me.

Sad thing is, I want him too.

Nick stood there at the elevator the next morning, debating on whether to walk down the hallway to Caraline’s hotel room or to get back in the elevator and run, run fast back to his room before someone saw him. He didn’t want to look pushy but he wanted to see her again. He took a deep breath and started to walk down the hallway and stopped, walking back to the elevator and stopped again. He told himself no, that he was going to walk down to her hotel room and knock on it. He had to. He turned around and walked down the hallway, looking around and up to her door.

He took a deep breath, holding his fist up, ready to knock on it and paused, looking down at his feet. He couldn’t do it. He pressed his lips together, looking at the door and smiled, knowing he had to do it if he wanted to see her. Finally he got the courage and just knocked on it.

Hold on!

“Okay,” Nick whispered as he looked around when the door opened and he saw Caraline standing there with her hair pulled up in a ponytail on top of her head and a hotel robe on, “Uh damn, hi,”

“Hi,” Caraline said as she crossed her arms across her chest, ” Can I help you this morning?” she asked as Nick stared at her, “Nick?”

“Um, just wanted to see what’s up,” Nick said as he smiled at her, “Can I come in?”

“Yeah for a few minutes. I’ve got to get ready because I have to go work,” Caraline said as she moved out of the way, letting Nick into the room. She shut the door behind him and walked past him and over to her bed, taking her make up bag out of her suitcase, “So what are you doing today?”

“Hmm, work. I have to go to the studio again,” Nick said as he leaned up against the dresser, watching her, “You won’t be here tonight will you?” Caraline looked back at him, nodding her head no and he started to frown, “When will you be back?”

“Sometime tomorrow afternoon or night,” Caraline said as she smiled, “So I won’t be gone too long. That’s one thing with Tim and Faith, that makes their marriage work,” she said as she looked back at him, standing up straight with a hand on her hip, “They never stay apart for more than three days. They stay together as much as possible,”

“That’s cool,” Nick said as he smiled at her as she turned around with her side to him and reached up, pulling her ponytail holder out of her hair, making her hair fall onto her shoulders wildly, “So where are you going today?”

“Faith has a interview and photo shoot,” Caraline said as she smiled, shrugging her shoulders, “So we have to go through the clothes that they have and pick out something and do her hair and make up and everything. That’s mainly what I do and I help out with the kids sometimes too, which I don’t mind because I love kids,”

“So, let me hear something you wrote,” Nick said as Caraline looked over at him smirking, “Come on. You know you want to,”

“Why don’t you go search for something?” Caraline asked as she smiled at him, “I’m not telling you,”

“I don’t even know your last name,”

“Morgan,”

“Caraline Morgan,” Nick said as but his thumbs in the pockets of his jeans, smirking at her, “Maybe I’ll go look today for things you’ve written.” She smiled at him as she walked into the bathroom, looking into the mirror and Nick walked over to the bathroom door, leaning against it and looked in, watching her as she put her make up on, “You don’t even need to wear any make up,”

“It would look bad if a stylist didn’t wear make up,” Caraline said, cutting her eyes over at Nick.

“Yeah but you’re beautiful without it,” Nick whispered as Caraline looked down at her make-up bag, and then over at Nick. He smiled at her and she smiled back at him, “I really mean it and I’m not saying that to get you into bed. You don’t seem like the type that spreads her legs for just anybody,”

“I’m not,” Caraline softly said as she looked at herself in the mirror. Nick walked into the bathroom, standing behind her as he put his hands on the counter, leaning over a little, looking into her eyes by looking into the mirror, “And I’m not beautiful,”

“Yeah you are,” Nick whispered as Caraline cut her eyes over to the side, barely able to see the side of his face, “Your eyes, and your lips and your skin and your smile,” he said as Caraline smiled into the mirror, looking at him, “See that smile?”

“Yeah,”

“And I thought you said last night you were comfortable with your sexuality,”

“I was just being forward last night, but everybody questions the way they look sometimes Nick, especially at eight in the morning,” Caraline said as she moved her head, looking back at him. She turned around, leaning against the counter, staring into his eyes as he stared back into hers. She smiled a little as they began to lean their lips in, closer to one another as she stuck her finger on his lips, stopping him, “Not yet,”

“Okay,” Nick whispered as he kissed her fingertip and she moved her hand away, “At least I got a kiss,”

“I have a secret,” Caraline said as Nick looked at her questionably, “Do you wanna know my secret?”

“Yes I do,” Nick whispered back as she motioned for him to come closer to her, so he moved his face closer to hers, as she moved her mouth closer to his left ear.

“I know you want me,”

“Uh huh,”

“Let’s just say you’re not the only one,” Caraline whispered into his ear as Nick backed away slowly, looking at her. She smiled back, biting her bottom lip and Nick smiled back, leaning over to kiss her on cheek, “Maybe I’ll see you before I leave this afternoon,”

“I should be back around three or so,” Nick said as he licked his lips and Caraline sighed, “What time are you leaving?”

“From the hotel? About thirty minutes later,” Caraline said as she smiled, “So I guess I’ll just see you tomorrow afternoon,”

“Yeah,” Nick said as he smiled and looked around the bathroom, before looking back to her, “So I guess I’ll just see you then?”

“Meet me in the lobby, at eight tomorrow night,” Caraline said as Nick smiled again, “Okay?”

“Okay,” Nick said as he smiled even more, “So I guess I better get to work myself,” he said as he moved his hands off of the counter and walked out of the bathroom slowly, “So do you want my cell number or -”

“Tomorrow night at eight,” Caraline said as Nick nodded his head a little, looking at her smile, “Be good okay?”

“I’m always good baby,” Nick said with a smirk as he opened the door up, smiling back at her, “Have a safe trip,”

“Thanks,” Caraline said as she started to say ‘bye’ when Nick stopped her.

“Don’t say ‘Bye’ because it’s not a goodbye,” Nick said as he smiled again, “It’s only the beginning,” he whispered as he turned around, shutting the door behind him. He stood there, taking a deep breath, telling himself ‘YES!’ as he started to walk down the hallway and saw Tim walk out of his and Faith’s hotel suite, “Tim,”

“Nick,” Tim said as he laughed and they shook hands, “Coming from seeing Caraline?” he asked, looking at Nick questionably.

“Yeah, I just came up to tell her goodbye because I doubt I’d get to see her again before she left tonight with your wife,” Nick said as he nodded his head a little smiling, “So you’re staying here?”

“Yep,” Tim said as he patted Nick on the shoulder, “We should go down to the bar tonight man. As many times as we’ve met, we’ve never had a guy talk and you’re somewhat seeing my girl now -”

“Well not seeing really -”

“Don’t deny it,” Tim said as Nick smiled, rolling his eyes, “We’ll have a man to man talk,”

“Alright man,” Nick said as they did another handshake, “It’s a deal. I’ll see ya tonight,”

“See ya tonight,” Tim said as Nick smiled, walking down the hallway. He walked up to the elevator, pushing the button for his floor and smiled even more. She wanted him. He knew it and he had proof now.

She told him he did.
