Chapter 33
Chapter Thirty – Three - Caught
Caraline walked into the hotel lobby a few hours later. She had walked around in shock all afternoon, with the New York Post in her hands. There was no doubt that it was Nick in those TV captions and that it was recently. The tattoos proved it. She felt disgusted as she looked at the picture. Every caption showed a position that her and Nick had been in. Every picture made her even more and more sick, knowing that since he had touched that, he’s touched her.
She knew all of his promises were lies. What Faith had told her just hours before was probably indeed true. He cheated on her then, why wouldn’t he cheat on her now? She even told Faith that it wasn’t true, the one person in the entire world that gave a young known designer a opportunity of a lifetime. Faith was a sister to her, and she put her trust in Nick over her trust in Faith.
That alone disgusted her.
The article said that this happened in New York City a few days ago. Nick was there alone while she was at home, confused by her run in with Bryan. They left on bad terms, and he end sup sleeping with some groupie. The weird thing was, the girl looked familiar. She knew she had seen her somewhere before. She just couldn’t put her finger on it.
As she walked towards the elevator, a tall blonde walked up beside her, waiting for the elevator door to open.
“Hi,” the girl said, looking at Caraline, “You look familiar for some reason. Are you from around here?”
”Nope, I’m from Mississippi originally,” Caraline replied. The elevator door opened and they both walked in, both pushing the seventh floor.
“What’s your name? Are you famous or something?” the girl asked. Caraline rolled her eyes and sighed. “Are you that girl from American Idol?”
”My name is Caraline and no I’m not Kelly Clarkson. I get told I look like her though,” Caraline replied, laughing a little. The girl laughed, and stuck her hand out to shake Caraline’s.
“My name is Rebecca,” she replied, smirking at Caraline. “I don’t know what type of girl you are, but there’s some pretty big stars staying in this hotel tonight.”
”Meaning what?”
”Well if you don’t have a boyfriend, there’s a guy here I’m sure would love to get with you,”
”I beg your pardon,” Caraline asked, stopping the elevator. “What kind of person do you think –“ she said, pausing. “Wait, who?”
”Nick Carter, from the Backstreet Boys,” Rebecca replied, crossing her arms. “I went down on him in this very elevator earlier today. He likes girls and I’m sure he’d like you.”
Caraline looked away, pressing the button for the elevator to start back up. The girl kept staring at her until she realized who she was. “Wait, your name is Caraline?” Rebecca asked. Caraline looked at her and looked away. “Fuck, you’re Nick’s girlfriend.”
“Not any longer,” Caraline replied as the elevator door opened. She marched down the hallway, reaching their room. She closed her eyes and began to knock when the door opened, causing her to knock Nick in the face, “Shit.”
”Damn baby,” Nick said, putting his hand over his face. “Where have you been. You haven’t answered your cell. I was getting worried.” He looked at her, seeing her walk towards his suitcase. “Caraline, what are you doing?”
“This!” Caraline yelled, throwing the newspaper at him. “How fucking dare you!” she screamed, picking up his suitcase. Nick opened up the newspaper to the article and pictures and closed his eyes. “Your shit is going out in the hallway and you’re leaving.”
“Caraline I can explain this.” Nick said, throwing the paper down. He walked towards her, touching her arm and she backed away. “It was a mistake okay, I thought you were with Bryan. Fuck, I knew I shouldn’t –“
”That is why you asked me to marry you. It was the night after that wasn’t it?”
”Yes.”
”Bastard,” Caraline muttered as she punched him, causing him to fall against the wall. “Damn I’m a good hit.”
”You don’t hit like a girl, that’s for sure.” Nick whispered, looking up at her. “Caraline, it’s not what you think. Really it isn’t.” he said. He watched her as she threw his backpack and laptop into the hallway. “Caraline, god dammit, listen to me.”
”Explain yourself,” Caraline replied. She crossed her arms, staring at him. “You have three minutes.”
Nick looked around the room, standing up from the floor. “It was a mistake okay. It was a drunken mistake and that’s all it was. I thought you were with Bryan and that you didn’t love me. I was upset because I love you so much –“
“One minute.”
”And,” Nick said, stuttering a little. “I love you so much Caraline, I’ll never do that again. Never, I’ll never touch another woman again, you are the only woman for me. It was a one time thing, and I love you.”
”Great.” Caraline said, as she began to cry lightly. “So you’re little blowjob in the elevator today was just a carnival ride?” She threw his shoe at him, causing him to duck. “It’s over. I’m not marrying you. It’s over. It’s OVER!” she screamed as Nick walked closer to her. “Get away from me!”
“Caraline!” Nick yelled, getting upset. “Just stop it okay, it’s not what you think!”
“You never changed Nick, you’re still the same person that you always were. You use girls for sex and then dump them and I was just another girl in your game, yet again.” Caraline said, holding the door open. “Get out of here.”
”Caraline, stop this now, it’s getting out of hand –“
”Nick, leave now before I call security!” Caraline yelled as Tim walked up to the door. “Nick, your stuff is in the hallway and I want you to leave.”
”Caraline, what’s going on?” Tim asked as Caraline looked at him. He saw that her make up was smeared and that she had been crying. “What did he do?”
”I did nothing!” Nick yelled as Caraline walked in the room to get the newspaper. “Caraline, please let’s just talk about this –“
”He had sex a few nights ago with some stranger who videotaped it. Then he got a blowjob in a elevator today.” Caraline said, handing Tim the newspaper. “Nick, get out.”
“Caraline, please,” Nick said as Tim walked over, practically dragging him out of the room, “Caraline!”
”Thanks Tim,” Caraline replied, shutting the door as soon as they were in the hallway. She leaned against the door after locking it and began to cry. She couldn’t stop the tears from flowing down her cheeks as she heard him call out for her in the hallway.
”Caraline!” Nick yelled from the hallway. He looked over at Tim and sighed. “Please talk to her, it’s not what it –“
”Nick, how can you even say that its not. It’s right here.” Tim replied, holding up the article and pictures. “Get away from her.”
”No Tim, it’s not,” Nick said as she paused, pressing his lips together. He ran his fingers through his hair and looked around. He couldn’t breathe and a million things was running through his mind.
“Sir, we’ve been asked to escort you out of the building,” a security guard replied as he began walking Nick down the hallway. The other security guard picked up Nick’s things, carrying them with him.
“Caraline, he’s gone.” Tim whispered as he walked to the door. He knocked on it once, and it cracked open with Caraline peeking out. “He’s gone.”
”I was so stupid,” Caraline whispered, wrapping her arms around Tim’s neck. “I trusted him and I was falling in love with him –“
”Shhh, it’ll be okay,” he whispered, hugging her tightly. He looked down at the article on the floor where he had dropped it and sighed, knowing he could kill Nick Carter with his bare hands.
