Chapter 27
Chapter Twenty – Seven - Three Words.
”Why don’t you go to New York and be with him?” Bryan whispered as Caraline continued to hug him, “I know that’s why you’re crying. You love him don’t you?”
”Yes, I really think so,” Caraline whispered as they stopped hugging and looked at each other, “I love you but you’re my past and I think he’s my future,”
”I know,” Bryan said as he ran his hand across her cheek lightly, “I love you too, but just don’t break up with me all over again and never talk to me again. I still wanna be friends,”
”Me too,” Caraline said as she smiled, “Maybe I should go to New York and surprise him. I think he thinks I don’t want him anymore and that I’m with you but I do want him,”
”Then go tell him that,” Bryan said as Caraline smiled, leaning up to hug him again. “If you love him then tell him that. You remember how that was with us,”
”We were scared to tell one another,” Caraline said as she started to laugh a little, “and we almost broke up because we were acting weird towards one another and I thought you were cheating on me.”
”Don’t be scared to tell him,” Bryan whispered as they stopped hugging and looked back at one another, “Go tell him you love him. You don’t wanna loose him do you?” Caraline nodded her head no. “Good, then tell him,”
”I am,” Caraline said as she leaned up, giving him a kiss on the cheek and ran over to her bedroom door. She opened it up and ran out of it, running downstairs to see April and her husband sitting in the living room with her mom and her brother Andy, “I need to call the airport,” she said as she ran over to the phone book, looking through it.
”Why do you need to call the airport?” April said as she stood up, walking over to her and then looked up to see Bryan coming from downstairs, with his hands in his pockets.
”I’m going to New York,” Caraline said as she started flipping through the pages, trying to find the number.
”What the hell are you going to New York for?” Andy asked as he looked over at Bryan, “Bryan, what the hell are you doing here?”
”To see Caraline and she’s going to see Nick,” Bryan said as he smiled, walking over and sat down in a chair.
”That Backdoor Boy?” Andy asked as Caraline reached over, picking up a magazine and threw it her brother as Bryan started to laugh, “Hey, shouldn’t date a Backdoor boy and you won’t get jokes cracked at you,”
”Mama,” Caraline said as she picked up the phone and started dialing the number, “If you don’t make him shut up I’m going to put my foot up his ass,” she said as she walked out of the room with the phone.
”Andy shut up,” Mrs. Morgan said as Andy rolled his eyes, and started to laugh.

Nick layed there in bed that morning with his arm over his eyes. He didn’t wanna open his eyes for the fear that the sun was blaring into the room and that wouldn’t help his hangover at all. He smiled, feeling someone laying beside him and rolled over, wrapping his arm around them, kissing them on their back, “Caraline…”
”Caraline?”
”Huh?” Nick asked as he opened his eyes, to see a blonde laying there in bed with him, “Oh fuck me,”
”Again?” she asked as she sat up in bed, looking at him. Nick shudders, shaking his head no and jumped out of bed, wrapping a sheet around him. He backed away a little, and walked over to the bathroom, looking at himself in the mirror. His eyes were bloodshot and he had lipstick marks all over his neck.
I think I’m just going to go..
”Okay. Bye,” Nick muttered as he put his hands on the bathroom counter, leaning over and looking at the floor until he heard her walk up to the door, buttoning her little white shirt up. He looked over at her and then back down at the floor, closing his eyes.
”Do you wanna –“ she started to ask as Nick nodded his head no, “Okay, well thanks for the drinks,”
”Welcome, bye,” Nick said as he pressed his lips together, hearing her walk out of the hotel room, shutting the door behind her. He stood back up, looking at himself in the mirror and shook his head. He didn’t even want to look at himself right now. He walked out of the bathroom and over to the phone, picking it up and started to call downstairs. He didn’t wanna stay in this hotel room, not at all.
He told the lady at the front desk that he would like to change rooms, and into one of the bigger suits. He wanted away from the simple room that he had gotten. He wanted away from that room in particular. He couldn’t believe he did it. He couldn’t believe he did exactly what she was afraid he was going to do.
He slid off of the bed, reaching over for his cell phone to see that he had a message. He sighed, hitting the button and put it up to his ear and started to listen to it.
Hey it’s me..
Caraline.
You got off of the phone so soon earlier and I just wanted to let you know that Bryan was just coming by to see why I wasn’t at the concert and all tonight. Nick, I don’t want to be with him okay? We’re just going to be friends. That’s it. I’m yours. Call me back okay? Bye.
Nick sighed, closing his cell phone and placed it against forehead. He kept calling himself ‘stupid’ over and over until he decided to stand up and threw the sheet back on the bed. He needed to shower and get the hell out of that room.

”Here you go Miss Morgan,” the bellboy said as he opened the door to Nick’s suite later that afternoon for her, “I’m sure Mr. Carter will be very happy to see you,” Caraline just looked at him and then back at the suite.
”This looks a little fancy for Nick, are you sure this is his room?” Caraline asked as she gave him a tip.
”Yes ma’am. He changed rooms this morning before he left for work. It’s the presidential suite,” he said as he smiled, walking back to the door, “Have a nice day,”
”Thanks,” Caraline said as she looked around the site. She remembered Nick told her once that he didn’t care about staying in huge suites but yet, he wanted in the presidential suite. It didn’t make much sense to her. She picked up her bags and looked around until she found the bedroom. She walked in, sitting her bags down and saw his over in the corner. Obviously he came in, threw his things down and went to work.
She smiled, kneeling down on the ground and opened her suite case, looking down at something that she brought with her. She stood back up, looking around the room and over at the bed. It had silk sheets. She smiled walking over to it and climbed up on it, laying down on it. It was way too comfortable.
Then her cell phone rung.
She reached down in the pocket of her jeans and pulled it out answering it, “Hello?”
”Hey,” Nick said as Caraline smiled, “Listen I’m sorry about last night –“
”It’s fine,” Caraline whispered as she smiled, “I know it probably looked bad with Bryan being there and all, but it’s not like that at all,”
”I think I know that now,” Nick said as he smiled, “I have to get back to work though, but I’ll call you when I get back to the hotel okay?”
”How long will that be?” Caraline asked as she sat up on the bed, looking around.
”A hour or so. It’ll be getting dark soon so I say an a hour or so. I’ve gotta go over a few background vocals on a song and I’ll be done,”
”Okay I’ll be waiting,” Caraline said as Nick smiled.
”I miss you so bad,”
”I miss you too,”
”Bye,”
”Bye,” Caraline whispered as she shut her cell phone and smiled, reaching over and picked up the phone, dialing downstairs.
She had a plan.

Nick sat there in the car, driving back to the hotel early that evening. He looked out the window to see the sun setting and closed his eyes, leaning it back against the seat. He was just ready to call Caraline, hear her voice, and go to sleep. He opened his eyes, looking up at the hotel as the driver walked around the car and opened the door for him.
He thanked the driver and stepped out of the car, putting his backpack on his back and started walking through the hotel. He reached down in his pocket, smiling a little as he took his cell phone out and started to dial Caraline’s number, and heard it ring.
”Hello?”
”Hey,” Nick said as he smiled, walking up to the elevator, “I’m just getting back from recording, I’m in the elevator now. I couldn’t wait until I got back to my room to hear your voice,”
”Did you get a lot of work done?”
”Yeah pretty much,”
”That song that you were talking about before?” Caraline asked as Nick smiled, looking up at the numbers as it went higher and higher.
”Yeah, it’s great. I think it’s the best thing that I have ever, ever recorded man,” Nick said as he yawned.
”Sleepy?”
”A little,”
”Awww, maybe you should go get in bed,” Caraline whispered as Nick smiled as the elevator door opened and he stepped out, “Order some room service and just relax,”
”It sounds nice but I’m more concerned about when you’re going to see me,” Nick said as Caraline started to laugh as Nick started to unlock his hotel suite door with his key, “What’s so funny?” he asked as he opened the door to see the lights off, with a few candles around. He walked in, shutting the door behind him and looked around until he saw Caraline walk around the corner slowly with a little white robe on and her hair pulled up, talking on her cell phone.
”I’m here,” Caraline whispered as Nick stared at her as she closed her cell phone. He blinked his eyes a little, looking at her as she walked up closer to him, taking his phone out of his hand and closed it, throwing both phones over onto the sofa.
”You’re here?” Nick asked as Caraline nodded her head yes, smiling at him, “And I have something that I want to tell you,”
”Okay,” Nick said as he took his backpack off, sitting it down on the floor, never taking his eyes from hers, “What is it?”
”I think that I’m falling in love with you,” Caraline whispered as she smiled, looking into his eyes, “I love Bryan and I always will because he was my first love but, I’m falling in love with you and –“
”I love you,” Nick whispered back as Caraline smiled at him, “I love you too,” he said as Caraline smiled, leaning up to kiss him and he backed away, looking at her.
”What is it?” Caraline asked as Nick blinked his eyes, swallowing and looked at her.
