Chapter 5

Samantha walked out of her bathroom in her t-shirt and pj pants and climbed into bed as she looked around. She just sat there as she leaned down beside her bed and picked up her purse, and pulled out the pictures of her and Jake that they had taken in the photo booth. She looked over on the little table beside her bed and picked up the picture frame that had a picture of her and Megan in it, and stuck the pictures of her and Jake on the side and sat it back down on the table when her phone rung.

“Hello?” asked Samantha answering the phone.

“Hey, you’re not already asleep are ya?” asked Jake.

No.. I came home and called Nick, and then got ready for bed and all…” said Samantha.

“Nick? You two becoming buddies, I don’t have competition do I?” asked Jake.

“No…. he’s just a friend, he’s a player Jake, damn.” said Samantha as she started to laugh a little.

“Yeah.. I don’t think I’ll have to worry about him.” said Jake, “So.. we’re still on for tomorrow night?”

“Yeah… what are we doing dating now or something?” asked Samantha.

“Everybody knows you’re my girl, might as well make it official.” said Jake as Samantha looked around.

“Oh so that’s why no other guys ever ask me out huh?” asked Samantha.

“Yep.” said Jake laughing, “You finally broke down and went out with me and now you just can’t say no.”

“I can’t can I?” asked Samantha.

“Nope…. I just have that power..” said Jake.

“Yeah I bet…” said Samantha, “I better go before my Mom or Dad comes in here and catches me on the phone this late.”

“Alright, I’ll see ya in the morning.” said Jake.

“Okay.” said Samantha as she smiled, “Bye.”

“Bye.” said Jake as Samantha hung up on the phone, leaned over turning her light out and layed back in bed as she started to smile

A month and a half had passed and it was now the beginning of November. Samantha and Nick had talked on the phone almost everyday since she called him from school that day. When they talked, they talked for hours at a time when Nick wasn’t busy and she wasn’t out with Jake.

Since going out that fourth time, Samantha and Jake started dating on a regular basis, and in no-time, they were boyfriend and girlfriend. Everybody was saying that they were going to be voted homecoming king and queen. They went out almost every night where they hung out with all of their friends, since most of Jake’s friends dated most of Samantha’s friend. They were all one big happy bunch.

But everytime Jake would drop Samantha off at home, she would go in and call Nick and talk to him until she was about to fall asleep. They talked about everything; when they were in elementry school, cartoons, video games, everything. Madison would tell him things that went on with all of them when they first started high school and things that he missed out on. Nick would tell her about traveling the world and the crazy things that fans had done to get to him.

“I can’t believe we voted king and queen.” said Samantha as her and Jake got out of his truck that night.

“Hey when you’re hot you’re hot and well.. we’re hot.” said Jake as Samantha started to laugh when she tried to look in the window to see if her parents were still up.

“I think they’ve already gone to bed.” said Samantha as Jake started to laugh as he pulled her up closer to him.

“Well… sneak me in.” whispered Jake as Samantha laughed a little.

“Yeah right.. they’d shoot you.. or atleast my dad would.” said Samantha as they started to kiss.

“Do you have to go in? We can go somewhere else…” said Jake as Samantha looked around for a minute.

“Yeah I better go on in…” said Samantha, “Maybe tomorrow night…”

“Maybe?” asked Jake as Samantha started to laugh.

“Or maybe no…” said Samantha as Jake rolled his eyes as he kissed her again.

“I’ll see you tomorrow…” said Jake.

“Okay.. bye.” said Samantha as she smiled and walked into her house to see her little brother Ryan asleep on the sofa in the living room. She walked upstairs to her room where she kicked shoes off and looked in the mirror to see that her hair was still practically perfect and that her black dress still wasn’t rinkled. She walked over to her bed, sitting down on it as she picked up the phone and dialed Nick’s number.

Nick was in New York City doing some shows and interviews. The group was becoming a hit in US and their debut album here was in the top. He’d been sitting around almost all night, not going out with AJ, so that he could talk to Samantha after the homecoming dance, when he finally gave up and went to sleep.

“Nick.. you’re phone is ringing…” said Brian as Nick layed there and Brian reached over on his bed and picked up his cell phone, “Hello?”

“Uh I got the wrong number I think..” said Samantha.

“Is this Samantha?” asked Brian.

“Yes… Brian?” asked Samantha.

“Yeah, hey… yeah we finally talk. Nick’s asleep.. he was waiting for you.” said Brian as he got back on his bed.

“Ohh… yeah we had a dance tonight and well I stayed out late. Do you think you could wake him up maybe? I’d really like to talk to him.” said Samantha.

“Sure.” said Brian as he picke dup a glass of water and poured it on Nick’s face.

“What the hell?” asked Nick as he jumped up and Brian handed him the phone.

“Samantha.” said Brian as Nick took the phone from him, “Hey, why are you out so late?”

“Hey.. the dance…. guess what.. me and Jake were homecoming queen and king!” said Samantha all excited as she started to giggle.

“For real, so did you get crowns and shit?” asked Nick.

“Yeah, it was so cool…. I had so much fun. It would have been cool if you could have went but.. ya know, you’re busy being on TV and all….” said Samantha giggling.

“Oh god, she’s all giggly.. someone is in love.” said Nick laughing.

“Me, nah….” said Samantha as Nick didn’t say anything and made this weird sound, “Maybe…. I dunno… just it’s weird. As long as I’ve known him I’ve never really looked at him like that ya know what I mean?”

“Oh yeah…” said Nick as he looked over at Brian who shook his head yes at him.

“I dunno.. I’m happier than I’ve been in a long time, I’ve like finally got a boyfriend that I love, I’m probably gonna be at the top of my class… and I’ve got like a brand new best friend…” said Samantha.

“Who would that be?” asked Nick laughing.

“Yeah you even have to ask?” asked Samantha laughing.

“I guess not, you know you’re my buddy, but guess what… I won’t be home for Thanksgiving like I promised…” said Nick as Samantha looked disappointed.

“You won’t?” asked Samantha.

“Nope… we’re doing the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, just found out this afternoon.” said Nick.

“Awww… well Christmas maybe.” said Samantha.

“Maybe, my family is all talking about going to Hawaii for it, so I have no idea.” said Nick.

“That sucks.” said Samantha, “I guess I’ll just have to fly somewhere to see you.”

“Hey Jake ain’t gonna let ya do that. I’ll be home in Feburary for a little break I know for a fact… I told you before it could be Feburary…” said Nick as Samantha looked around and sighed.

“I know…” said Samantha, “Just the phone thing is getting old. We need to go out and get some more pizza.” as Nick laughed.

“Don’t worry we will…” said Nick, “So what else is up?”

“My car sucks…. it wouldn’t crank at school today, Jake had to bring me home. You would think a 96 would work perfectly but no… Ford’s are peices of shit.” said Samantha as laughed again.
