Chapter 47

The guys had to cancel both shows due to the hurricane but started the tour a few days later in North Carolina where it went off without a hitch.

Samantha was loved going from place to place, seeing all of the different sites and the different people; Nick loved having her there. Most of the time and even though he had his own hotel room, he always found himself falling asleep over in her room. He couldn’t help it, he just didn’t want to be away from her. It was almost like he was becoming obsessed with her because he knew he loved her so much.

Kevin just didn’t like the idea of Samantha out in public where people would see her, Megan and Nick together and start to wonder even though they all knew that nothing was going on, the fans would think that there was.

Now that it was the end of October, the tour had been going on almost a month and a half. The shows were sold out and they were getting the best reviews that they have ever gotten.

“Sam.. have you seen my Nike hat?” asked Nick as he looked around the back of the bus as Samantha pulled it out from a pillow as she laid on the bed, “Uhh.. yeah sneak it from me why don’t ya.”

“Yeah yeah yeah.. you really need a haircut.” said Samantha, “That bowl cut is like getting out of style man.”

“Whatever..” said Nick, “I have my own style..”

“Oh yeah whatever…” said Samantha as Nick leaned down on the floor, holding Megan up.

“Look she’s standing up by herself.” said Nick.

“Yep.. she should be walking pretty soon…” said Samantha as she smiled.

“That.. that’s gonna be weird, seeing her just run around like that… man.” said Nick laughing.

“I know… so what do you have to go in so early for today?” asked Samantha.

“Damn interview and then we rehearse some.” said Nick, “You gonna come in?”

“Sure.” said Samantha as Nick looked at his watch.

“I better go on in.” said Nick as he gave Megan a big kiss on the cheek, “Alright go back to your mama…”

“Come here..” said Samantha laughing as Nick laughed.

“Oh does mama want a kiss on the cheek like that?” asked Nick.

“That’s okay.” said Samantha, “I’ll be in there in a little bit.”

“Okay.” said Nick as he smiled and walked out.

Samantha walked off of the bus just a few minutes after Nick, holding Megan and her diaper bag as she walked past the crowd trying not to cause a distraction when someone noticed her.

“Hi, hey…” said a girl as Samantha stopped and looked over at her.

“Hi.” Said Samantha.

“What’s your name?” asked the girl.

“Sam.. Samantha.” Said Samantha, “Yours?”

“Crys, are you a friend of the guys?” asked Crys.

“Yeah I’m a friend of Nick’s.” said Samantha as Crys looked at Megan and then at Samantha, “Oh wait it’s not what you’re thinking, trust me. We’re only friends.” Said Samantha.

“Oh well that’s cool, just we heard a rumor online that some girl with a baby was on Nick and Howie’s bus and then I saw you…” said Crys.

“Oh.. yeah I was having some personal problems so I came out on the road with Nick for a little while.” Said Samantha, “I better get in before she wakes up, it was nice meeting you.”

“You too.” Said Crys as Samantha walked into the door and looked around and continued to walk down the long hallway.

“You know.. I bet that’s Nick’s girlfriend.” said Crys as she looked over at her friend Cate.

“I know I read somewhere that he has a best friend name Sam, wonder if that’s her?” asked Cate.

“With a baby….” said Crys.

“Interesting…” said Cate.

“Very…” said Crys.

Samantha walked around backstage a little bit later to see the guys starting the beginning of “Back To Your Heart” with Nick on drums and Kevin on the piano. She walked up to the side of the stage, holding Megan, watching them when she looked over to her side to see a woman standing there looking at her.

“Hi.” said Samantha.

“Hi, how are you?” asked the woman.

“Fine, this song is great isn’t it?” asked Samantha.

“Oh yes, my name is Cynthia.” said Cynthia as they shook hands.

“Samantha.” said Samantha as she looked back out at the guys.

“So is that your little sister?” asked Cynthia.

“No..” said Samantha as she started to laugh, “My daughter.”

“Oh you’re daughter, well she’s beautiful. Do you work for the guys or the arena?” asked Cynthia.

“No.. I’m just a friend of one of the guys and I just came out on the tour to get away from home.” said Samantha.

“Oh where’s home?” asked Cynthia.

“Tampa.” said Samantha as the song ended and Nick left his drumset, walking up to Samantha.

“Hey, we’re not gonna be too much longer alright… ” said Nick.

“Oh okay.. well I’m gonna go back out to the bus then.” said Samantha as Nick looked over at Cynthia.

“Okay.” said Nick as he smiled and Samantha walked off. Nick looked over at Cynthia and walked back over where the guys were going to rehearse again.
