Chapter 46

Nick laid there that night on the right side of the bed, looking up at the ceiling and then looked over at Samantha who was laying on her stomach with her eyes closed. The only thing that was separating them was Megan who was asleep in between them. He had been trying to go to sleep but he was too nervous. Between the possibility of the opening show being cancelled due to a hurricane and Samantha not even a foot away from him asleep, there was no way he could get any sleep.

“Shit.. I gotta get some sleep incase we do get to do the show…” he thought as he put his hands behind his head and closed his eyes.

“Sam, I think there’s something I should tell you….”

“What?”

“I love you.”

“I love you too.”

“No.. I mean I really love you. Not this best friend crap, I mean, really love you Sam, I wanna spend the rest of my life with you.”

“You do?”

“Yeah I wanna be what Jake couldn’t be, will you let me?”

“Yes…”

“Sam…

“Sam….” Whispered Nick in his sleep as Samantha looked over at him, “I…”

“Nick, wake up!” said Samantha as Nick jumped and fell off of the bed and Megan woke up.

“Shit sorry, what, what did I do?” asked Nick as he looked around confused.

“You were talking in your sleep, you were saying my name.” Said Samantha as she patted Megan on the back to get her back to sleep.

“Oh, did I say anything else?” asked Nick.

“No, just Sam.” Said Samantha.

“Oh, good… good..” said Nick as he got back up on the bed, “Good.. alright well goodnight again..”

“Goodnight.” Said Samantha as Nick rolled over, having his back facing her. He just laid there with his eyes wide open.

“Shit still can’t go to sleep dammit..” he thought as he rolled his eyes.

“Kevin, what the hell are you doing??” asked AJ early that next morning as he peeked out of his room to see Kevin standing there beating on Nick’s door.

“Jane called wanting Nick who isn’t answering his phone and I don’t think he’s in there.” Said Kevin as he knocked on the door again.

“Is he in Sam’s room?” asked AJ as Kevin looked over at him.

“I hope not.” Said Kevin as he walked down to the next door and knocked on it.

“Man..” said AJ, “I’m going back to sleep.” As he shut his door, going back in his room.

“Hang on…” mumbled Nick as he opened the door, looking half asleep to see Kevin, “Kev.. whats up?”

“Nick.. what the hell are you doing in Sam’s room?” asked Kevin.

“She didn’t want to be alone last night.” Said Nick.

“She’s not she’s got Megan.” Said Kevin.

“No man… I couldn’t leave her alone last night.” Said Nick.

“You could have, you didn’t want to.” Said Kevin, “Nick…just I don’t want her to cause problems for you.”

“She’s not.” Said Nick.

“If you say so….” Said Kevin as he looked in the room and looked back at Nick, “Slept in the same bed I see…”

“Kev.. trust me, nothing is going on. I’ve never touched her or anything, trust me, damn.. I’m 19 years old.. give me a little credit here. I’m not 14 anymore.” Said Nick.

“Just be careful and don’t get us others in a lot of crap because you can’t control yourself.” Said Kevin as he walked off and Nick stood there.

“Control myself.. huh…” said Nick as he walked back over and climbed into bed to see Megan and Samantha asleep, “I’m not fucking anything up….”

“Man…. Nick better hurry the hell up.” Said Kevin later that day as him, the other guys, and their back up dancers were standing around waiting for Nick to show up and rehearse.

“He’s coming, he’s not gonna forget.” Said Howie.

“I don’t know.” Said Kevin, “Sam’s here.”

“Sam has nothing to do with it man.” Said Brian, “I’m personally tired of all your smart ass comments about it.”

“Uhh…” said Kevin as he made a weird face at Brian while AJ and Howie laughed at him.

“Here they come.” Said AJ as he looked over to see Nick walking up with Samantha right beside him, holding Megan.

“Nick what is she doing here?” asked Kevin.

“Kevin she’s tired of just staying alone in the hotel room..” said Nick as Kevin gave him an evil eye.

“People saw her outside.” said Kevin as he looked over at Samantha, “Sam it’s nothing against you, it’s just, you know how the fans can get.”

“Yeah, I know. I told him the same thing.” said Samantha.

“Well.. come on let’s rehearse.” said Kevin, “Sam if you get tired of standing to th e side you can go back in the green room.”

“Okay.” said Samantha as she stepped over to the side while the guys got ready to rehearse.

“Thank you god for hurricanes!!” yelled AJ, “Nervous enough whoo.. we got a few days to prepare…”

“For real..” said Howie, “Nick you better go wake up Samantha…”

“Oh shit yeah you’re right..” said Nick laughing.

“Look at him forgetting her already.” said Brian laughing.

“Sam… come on.. we’re ready to go.” said Nick as he looked into the green room a few hours later to see Samantha laying there on the sofa with Megan asleep. He just stood there smiling until he heard Kevin and the other guys down the hall.

“Sam.. wake up…” said Nick as he pinched her nose a little and she moved.

“Hey… you finished?” asked Samantha as she sat up, holding Megan.

“Yeah must not have been that interesting, you left us.” said Nick laughing, “Well the show was cancelled.. the hurricane and all so we gotta get back to the hotel and al.”

“Ohh okay… and Of course that’s… the reason.” said Samantha joking as AJ stuck his head in the door.

“Come on guys… it’s alot of fans out here, we gotta leave … pronto.” said AJ.

“Alright, got your stuff?” asked Nick as Samantha grabbed Megan’s diaper bag.

“Yeah, let’s go.” said Samantha as they started out of the greenroom, “No but seriously, the rehearsal was great.”

“Thanks.” said Nick as they walked outside the backdoor to flashes of lights and screaming fans, “Damn follow security to the bus alright..” said Nick as he stayed back to sign a few autographs as Samantha made it onto the bus with Nick running up right behind her.

“Holy shit that was like whoa…” said Samantha looking scared, holding Megan.

“Yep well get use to it.. this is Backstreet Fanism… welcome and enjoy.” said AJ smiling as Samantha rolled her eyes laughing.
