Oh happy happy, joy joy

A butterfly on my front porch earlier this week.

I’m so happy and giddy right now. I needed something to cheer me up after the day I’ve had and so… I made a midnight splurge and bought myself my first real zoom lens for my new Canon camera. The butterfly above was taken earlier this week with the normal lens. It was a huge butterfly.

So, about my day…

I had a doctor’s appointment as a follow up to see if I felt better and had more energy after taking that medicine for the last month. Well, I don’t feel any better. So I’m going to do another test, to see if I have any sleeping issues, but my doctor brought up something else.

Weight loss surgery.

Okay, so I’m not like the 1,500 pound people you see on TLC. I’ve always had weight problems. Up and down, lose and gain. Since October, I’ve lost almost 30 pounds by just cutting back on sodas and stuff. I would love to lose 50 more pounds because I’m never going to be ultra skinny nor do I want to be. I’ve often thought about weight loss surgery.

So I’m going to find out from my insurance company through work to see if it would cover it since it’s for health reasons. If they do, I’m going to talk to an old crush from high school’s mom who apparently has had it done and figure out what I want to do from there.

What do you guys think about it?

On that note, I’m tired. I have work and two concerts tomorrow that I’m shooting and I can’t wait to try out my new lens.

Now for some Ask Karah’s…

So what exactly do you do? I see writing and then you design stuff and you take photos? – Tailor

I do all three, sad I know. I’m mainly a sports designer at a newspaper but I also write different things for the paper, such as interviewing Howie. I do concert photography for the local theme park, where BSB performed. I want to branch out to wedding photography or portroits.

Why did you wait so long for a IWBB sequel?

Well I stopped writing BSB fan fiction for a while so that’s the main reason. I like the fact that I didn’t fast forward to the future and that I’m writing something that really is eight or nine years later.

And with that, Chapter 2 of “We Weren’t Crazy” is up.. “See Me Through.”  I only have half of the next chapter written so don’t expect another chapter until Tuesday or so :) Might update tomorrow with some pics with my new lens :)

About Karah
I'm not your typical southern belle. I don't like peaches or sweat tea. I like dirty words and dirty jokes. I'm a '80 baby and I work in the media industry. I'm a sports lover. I like boys who drive fast cars and play the guitar. Backstreet Boys, Nick Carter, Taylor Swift, Luke Bryan and any 80's hair bands rock my world. I've been writing Backstreet Boys fan fiction since 1999, when I created what would become My Confession before Nicky's song ever came out. <3<3

I have gotten the lapband surgery and it has been such a blessing in my life. There is still a lot of hard work involved, but there has been such a difference with my blood pressure and sleep apnea as well as my weight. My mom’s friend had the same surgery specicically for the diabeties that she’s been battling her entire 65 years. She is now diabeties free.

I’ve had my ups and downs, with the band. A year afer having the surgury, i got a nasty stomach virus and my band ended up slipping. I had to have surgery to have it fixed. Even having to go through that i never regretted getting the surgery to begin with. I’ve lost 120lbs and finally keeping it off.

Just make sure you do all your research to decide if its right for you. I went through a year worth of research and seminars to make sure it was what I wanted. Good Luck and if you have any questions please dont hesitate to email me.

Beautiful butterfly. Congrats on your new lens. And I hope you health problems go away. I can understand about the weight loss issues. I have dealt with my own for awhile and even though I have them under control I know they can crop up anytime. If you do decide to have the surgery do ask around so you can get a lot of information. Good luck.

I need to go reread IWBB. That’s going to be one trip down memory lane. LOL It’s going to be fun though. I want to say it’s the first story I ever read of yours, but who knows.

weight loss surgery? what are you looking into? My aunt had to have the bypass done twice. :( Made her really sick also.. My doctor gave me it as an option when I was trying to see what my options were. I am the same way I am 6 ft 1 and about 290.. I have heard really good things about the lapband…
